I have portable Firefox and installed the Flashgot addon so I could use a custom Downloader (eepget from I2P). It works BUT Flashgot puts in an absolute path to the eepget.exe and doesn't work when I move portable Firefox.
Question is, is there any way around this so Firefox, Flashgot and eepget can all be used portably?
I can't seem to find ANY information on this anywhere that fixes this issue.
FirefoxPortable.ini file for setting the local homepage worked fine from the USB stick... but as soon as the entire bundle was copied to the desktop and run, it screwed up the path, when converting the relative path to a more complex, absolute path.
Firefox can't find the file at /C:/Documents and Settingsonned/Desktop/PortableFootprints/Index.html.
The path should read ' ....and Settings/conned/...'
Ini File below:
[FirefoxPortable]
FirefoxDirectory=App\firefox
ProfileDirectory=Data\profile
SettingsDirectory=Data\settings
PluginsDirectory=Data\plugins
Thank you for the firefox portable!
I have installed original firefox 3.6.13 now in my PC, at the same time, I want to run firefox 4.0 beta8 for testing. When doing this, it came out a msg "Another instance of Firefox is already running. Please close other instances of Firefox before launching Mozilla Firefox, Portable Edition."
I had search all the forum and found no good solution. After change like this:
1. Close all instances of Firefox Portable.
2. Copy FirefoxPortable\Other\Source\FirefoxPortable.ini to FirefoxPortable (next to FirefoxPortable.exe)
Downloads window is showing Canceled under the file.
(Windows XP not on harddisk, but on BART_PE CD)
No problem with FirefoxPortable_3.5.15 (3.5.16)when modified with about:config:
browser.download.manager.skipWinSecurityPolicyChecks_user_set_boolean_true

Hello everyone,
first escuse me for my english, I'm Belgian so I speak french normally
I need some help. I try to boot a java enabled version of Firefox portable from my Sandisk flash drive, but no matter how I spin it, it won't work! I tried putting it in the data file, the apps file, running it with the java and adobe player already on computer... NOTHING! I'm trying to play RuneScape at work without being tracked on it but I can not for the life of me figure out what I am supposed to do to make Java work!!! Help me please
I had Google Toolbar installed and running perfectly in Firefox portable before I lot my usb flash drive a couple months ago.
I just got a new one and have installed Firefox portable and Google Toolbar successfully but the problem is that I can't sign in to the Google Toolbar. When I try signing in, the sign in page pops up, I am able to fill in the details, it loads but doesn't sign me in.
I followed the suggestions in the Google Toolbar Help: clear history, cache etc but to no avail. Even tried uninstalling & re-installing the Google Toolbar.
I've done some research on this forum and the web and still cannot stop the "Extensions" window from popping-up every time I use Portable Firefox on a different PC.
This seemed to be the same issue here: https://portableapps.com/node/23263
But no luck with any of those suggestions.
So now when I go to Runescape, I need to download -their very own- flavor of Java. I have a copy of it on my thumb drive, but how do I cram it into the apps folders? Assume that I am a drooling idiot, and speak slowly and -enunciate-. Please.
