TBP to TB

I have searched the forums and just can not seem to find an answer.

I have TBP setup and working quite well, I recently bought a Win7 laptop. I have installed TB onto it. Is there a way to copy over all my settings from TBP to TB? I read John's info on doing it from TB to TBP and tried to reverse the process but TB does not seem to recognize any of the accoounts or profiles I copied?

How to make TB Portable 314 smaller

Submitted by sweetnuttin on September 24, 2010 - 2:27pm

Hi Guys, (and other gals),

I have been using TB Portable 3.0.nn and just downloaded 3.1.4.
I actually use most all programs from PortableApps.com and run them from my HDD.
My question is this: In some of the newer versions of the pgms, there is included an application(?) launcher from PortableApps.com in the paf file, plus other files.

How do I, or What files can I delete from the installation/expansion of the paf file that is NOT needed to run the pgm from a HDD, without a portable apps menu system?

Thanks a bunch!
Sincerely,
SueN ;>)

Colon in the subject line confuses TB

Submitted by kxcooper on September 22, 2010 - 4:24am

After receiving an email with a colon in the subject line, e.g. "Latest news:
TB3 is the best", TB truncates the line at the colon and ignores the date in the following Date line in the header and displays 01/01/2000 12:00.

It does this in the 3 pane window which means I can't sort by date. Both the
message preview and separate message window display the correct date but still
truncate the subject line.

Thunderbird 3 USB Hard Drive Connection Issue

Submitted by moopf on September 22, 2010 - 3:53am

Hi,

I've been using portable Thunderbird on an external hard drive for years now and about 2 weeks ago upgraded to version 3. Since doing that I encountered an issue with my portable hard drive (Freecom) that manifested itself as Windows disconnecting and reconnecting the hard drive (although not always reconnecting unless I did it manually). The tell-tale windows USB connect/disconnect sounds play when this happens.

Filters fails ?

Submitted by Esgrimidor on September 14, 2010 - 6:32pm

I have portable spanish version. 3.1.3
I have defined filters.
But I observed some times some of the emails are received in the main folder, not in the filtered folder.

Is a known issue in the spanish version ?
How can I depure this problem ?

I redefined the filter, but again the filter fails some times.

TB and TBP sync? And: slow startup in public library

i have a computer at home, and sometimes it's connected to the internet and sometimes not.

for those times without, i tried TBP as found on portableapps, and went to use it in the public library. the start-up is really slow and sometimes the computer hangs... there's not much i can do, i don't have administrative rights on these machines and time is short.
(the computers are fast enough otherwise, i think the anti-virus is on some kind of paranoia mode or removable drives get triple checked or sth.)

[Resolved] TB 3.1.3 - problem with accessing messages

Submitted by Paul Gauci on September 13, 2010 - 11:31am

I have just upgraded to TB 3.1.3 Portable.

When I need to open the inbox of any of my accounts, I have to right-click the Inbox icon and then click 'Open'.

After this I have to follow the same procedure for each message in the Inbox this time by right-clicking the Message and then clicking 'Open Message in New Tab'

I have re-installed TB3.1.3 Portable three times now but I am still getting the same results.

Has anyone encountered this issue, please?

Thanks

Paul

Portable Thunderbird in a network

Submitted by Esgrimidor on September 10, 2010 - 1:08pm

Portable thunderbird in a network

I would like use my thunderbird in a net with two pc.

So I only need to control that the main executable look for the data folder in the place I indicate.

This place will be the same folder in any case.
Can I execute twice the main executable from both pc ?

What's the best way to make TB3 to work in a local area network ?

Best Regards
