Thunderbird Portable

What's the reason there's no information on beta version on Thunderbird Portable's page? There is information on beta version on Firefox Portable's page though...
"3.6 Beta 3 - For testers, Mozilla Firefox, Portable Edition 3.6 Beta 3 is also available."

I have the latest and greatest version of Thunderbird and yesterday, it stopped working. No changes, no updates, nothing. When I double click on the icon, it gives me the splash screen like normal then nothing. When I check task manager, there it is. The memory goes up, then down. If I click on it to end task, the end task button grays out. I let it 'attempt launch' for 15 minutes to get nothing. I also tried it on a different machine (hoping it was my PC and not my portable). Got the same results.

I have joined recently the portableapps-community and I am really keen on starting to use it with my USB stick.

The only thing that I really struggle with my emails and especially with the installation of my GMX account. Have WEB.DE account installed, that works. GMX doesn't. I think I tried everything now, from changing domains(.de/.net), ports and SSL connections yes/no.

when I try to connect to GMX sometimes it says "timed out" another time "refused" (I think this was with pop.gmx.net)

I initially reported this bug on the main Thunderbird bugzilla website, but it appears to be only happening in the PortableApps version. version 2.0.0.23 (20090812) I do not see a bugzilla website for PortableApps so guess I will report this to this forum and hope someone will act on it... Hi,

I am having a slight problem and hope someone can help me.

I have Thunderbird on a USB stick and use multiple email addresses and signatures. Images in my signature are also stored on my USB stick. As I move between computers the drive letter of the stick naturally changes. Thunderbird cannot find my signature images simply because it is looking in the wrong drive. I have temporarily resolved this by keeping the images on my net server but would like to link them directly to the folder on my USB stick. How can I rectify this?

I'm using Thunderbird on my USB Flash drive
When I press rebuild index I loose all messages in folder
the same thing when I delete msf file

But if I copy Thunderbird on hard drive rebuild index works fine

What can be wrong?

I use Thunderbird portable 2.0.0.23 / WinXP

I had been running T3 Beta's very successfully ever since it was released on Portable apps. I upgraded to T3B4 as soon as it was available and it worked great. Had profile-malfunction last week that eventually dictated a clean install of T3B4. Immediately noticed that it ran very sluggish, taking 3-5 seconds to show an email as selected once clicked and taking as much as 15 seconds to display or delete an email. Copied over all emails from the previous profiles with no change.

I am not sure where this bug should go, because I have changed too many things at once. My office computer now uses Windows 7 64-bits, and I read e-mail on Thunderbird 3 beta 4 Portable installed on PortableApps 2 beta 3.

I know I only need to click once on programs listed in the PortableApps window; but sometimes I doubleclick by error. When I doubleclick on Thunderbird Portable, I get the following error message (translated from French):
"You are trying to open Thunderbird from a read-only location... This does not work."
Then, it closes.

'm using Thunderbird under Windoze XP SP3

Following recent posts from me about importing from Eudora, imported messages ended up in "local folders" as opposed to being located with the relevant email address - I use three. I have been able to copy two sets of folders to sit with the relevant email address and then deleted the duplicate folders from "local folders"

When I highlight a photo in my laptop and right click on it then in the context menu that pops up I would like to choose Send To and then Mail Recipient and have a new message open in Thunderbird with the photo as an attachment. The reason for this is that in the process in can choose to have the photo resized for email. It worked like this nicely for Outlook when I had it installed.
