How do I set Lightning as the start page in Thunderbird? There seems to be no option to do this.
Hi,
I'm just wondering whether it is possible to run Thunderbird portable when another (locally installed) instance of Thunderbird is running.
Following situation:
At work I use Thunderbird which runs all the time.
Now I would like to check my personal emails with a thunderbird portable installed on an USB drive.
Is this possible? Will there be any interference?
I followed the directions and copied my local profile to my key drive in thunderbird portable\data\profile. When I open TB portable from the key drive it appears to be using the default profile. It prompts me to download all my inbox and none of my local folders are there. What am I doing wrong?
Although the RSS feeds work fine in the desktop TB 2.0.0 and prior, on the thumb drive the folders are seen but no feeds are ever active. Wonder what the is trick to activate when using various public computers? (Searched through several pages in the forum for RSS and didn't see a direct question/answer.)

I just moved from Outlook and find this great.
There I could mark a category for email instead of moving mails to seperate folders.
I a addon to tag the emails, but I have to open each mail and add the tag.
Is there a way, addon ... to tag/categorise multiple emails at same time.

I'm new to the portable world and was trying to install the Nokia Synchronization Add-on. Has anyone had success with this?
Thanks.
i copied the portable thunderbird directory to my desktop, formated my thumbdrive and copied the directory back onto the thumbdrive thinking that this would work. well, it worked except for one minor detail. at the bottom of the thuderbird email screen (under the bottom bar that displays "Unread: 0 Total: 0") i have code in red text.

Can someone please tell me how to remove this?
Thanks.
I found a thread on this, but no clear explanation other than delete and start again...
I can get my emails:
- when TB starts
- When I press ctrl-shift-t
- When I click on the individual account on the "Get Mail" drop down menu
but... nothing happens when I press "Get Mail" itself...
On a previous thread, 2 possibilites were mentionned: a corrupt profile or firewall blocking.
- My emails can be downloaded by any other means except by pressing the button itself, so no firewall problems.
So far its not posible with thunderbird as far as i know.
BUT!
You can use other tools and for example auto execute Thunderbird when new mail comes in.
Check out: http://www.poptray.org/
I use it for my work mostly with just a sound notify which is enough for me.
So far, on 10.000 test mails it does not crash
I am trying TBP on my flashdrive, and I'd like to use it to download and send mail from several email accounts. Unfortunately, I need to change outgoing server when I move from home to work and vice versa, otherwise I can't send nothing.
Could be useful if TBP let us to change outgoing server for all accounts by just one simple click... it would be very "portable"!
Maybe that function already exist and I was not able to find that?
