Address Book Link / Stand Alone

Submitted by DADSGETNDOWN on February 5, 2012 - 9:10pm

Well I have 2 things here. (1) I want and was searching for a standalone address book or contacts, with all the features, email addresses, phone numbers, birthdates, mailing Address and such, still want one and found a post a long time ago with a few others that do also. Something small and simple like Pnotes or stickies and such. (2) It seems it is waste of a "getapps" link, because in the Office Section is, Mozilla Thunderbird, Portable Edition (Address Book) - Email client's built-in address book with import/export functions.

Thunderbird 3 Can't rename IMAP folder

Submitted by nhml on January 25, 2012 - 2:27pm

Hi everyone

I'm using the Thunderbird 3.1.14 and I have one IMAP account that needs to be changed it's "Sent" folder to "Sent items". Though when editing the "Sent" folder options I can't change the "Name" or "Location" elements. Also I have tried to change it on the "about:config" the field "mail.identity.id7.fcc_folder" "imap://acount and server/Sent Items" but when i start thunderbird again this field returns to it's older value.

Thank you

ThunderbirdPortable - Order in dowloading e-mails from several accounts.

Submitted by michele.bartole... on January 23, 2012 - 5:16am

Dear,

since some weeks ago my ThunderbirdPortable installed on my USB Drive used to download e-mails from my four accounts following an order I liked: first my main account, then the others.

But now the order is changed, and my main account "slid down".

Seems a tiny matter, but this quite slows down the whole operation...

How can I come back to the previous order, or better control this order? Maybe something in the config sheet?

Thanks.

Lightning Extension Not Working

Submitted by Rocket Rider on January 12, 2012 - 5:39pm

So I upgraded my TB portable and then attempt to upgrade Lightning but it will no install. The script stops running. Now I have no access to my calendar. I would like to learn to to make it run, or revert TB 9 whatever back to an earlier version that worked with Lighting. Where are the calendar files? I was thinking if nothing else worked, I would just delete all of it and start over, but I don't want to loose that data.

Where is thunderbird_portable_3.1.7

Submitted by Alec_Burgess on January 11, 2012 - 11:59pm

I've chosen at least for now to remain with the Thunderbird Portable 3.x series.
I keep getting notices to upgrade to 3.17 (I'm currently at 3.16)
Googling and searching this site located:
https://portableapps.com/news/2010-12-09_-_thunderbird_portable_3.1.7 but the download link on it points to the main download and hence to Thunderbird 9.

Does anyone know where I can locate 3.17 which apparently was a some past time available?

[Edit add] I suspect the above was an erroneous post since on

Digital signing in Thunderbird Portable using an account with copied mail produces messages unverifiable by OpenSSL

Submitted by NickApplenet on January 5, 2012 - 8:54am

Environment: Thunderbird Portable 9.0.1 on Windows XP Pro (32 bit).

Thunderbird Portable is run from the local hard drive (not from a USB one).
Thunderbird Portable has been upgraded from earlier versions gradually.

Scenario:

Installed automatically (from TERENA Personal CA) a personal certificate in Firefox Portable 9.0.1. I created certificate backup and imported into Thunderbird Portable (9.0.1), then I enabled in an account signing and encryption using this certificate. The account includes copied mail. Signed messages sent using this account cannot be verified.

TB 10.0 beta 1 now being offered as upgrade to TB 9.0 (non beta) should be TB9.0.1 I think

I'm not sure this is a PA issue as such but it seems to me there may be some versioning issues happening (I am not suggesting either the PA or Moz communities are at fault as I can't work out which it might be).

TB 9 on beta channel

Cheetah's picture
Submitted by Cheetah on December 26, 2011 - 12:10am

I've noticed after upgrading Thunderbird Portable to 9.0, that it thinks it's on the beta update channel, and is thus offering me a beta of the next version as a recommended update.

I looked in the about:config window, and it shows app.update.channel is set to "beta" and it shows that as the default setting.

This does not seem right.
