Can´t access some mailboxes after v5.0 upgrade

Submitted by JonathanL on July 18, 2011 - 4:45am

I was recently invited by Thunderbird to upgrade to v5.0 (from within the app). I selected this option, believing that with portable apps this is generally okay, i.e. it will not mess up the portable nature of the app.

I am now not able to access the mailboxes on certain servers (GoDaddy Europe). It asks for the password and seems to accept it, but no emails are downloaded. This is using an IMAP server and none of the settings seems to have changed when upgrading to v5.0

I still have access to a mailbox on another server and that is working fine.

TB freezes when changing key trust in Enigmail 1.2

Submitted by TFTD on July 1, 2011 - 8:55am

Yesterday I upgraded my portable Thunderbird to 5.0. Actually, after issues with the Lightning Addon I choose to reinstall it completely.
I use TB with GPG Portable for TB (1.4.11) and Enigmail 1.2. After setting everything up I wanted to change the key trust of one of the public keys. When choosing "Set Owner Trust" and changing and clicking okay TB freezes and does not recover. Only help is to kill it in the Taskmanger and restart.

Inbox error after upgrade to Thunderbird 5

Submitted by ratcatcher on June 30, 2011 - 11:03am

I upgraded to TB5 two days ago. I use it on two machines - one running Windows XP and one running Windows 7 (64-bit). I collect mail from a number of accounts which all go to the global Inbox on Local Folders. Generally speaking that Inbox folder remains empty because filters move incoming messages to other folders (which also exist within Local Folders). This arrangement worked without issue on the previous version of TB.

New Account wizard launches with mailto link when TBP isn't open

Submitted by alexhoward on June 29, 2011 - 6:03pm

If I have TBP open and I click on a mailto link, a new message window opens as it should with the To: field populated as one would expect. However, if TBP is closed, when the new message window pops up, I'm hit with the "New Account Wizard" even though I have default accounts defined.

Anyone have any ideas or experiencing this?
