Thunderbird Portable

I'm just trying to untangle my administrator's install of T/Bird Portable. Its a teal mess of folders - not just the ones I see on a fresh install.

Also there is at least one corrupt set of files.

If I freeze her old install and make a new one which files or folders should I move across to keep her existing mail records - looks like some are stored in "local folders" and some with the profile of the three email addresses she uses from this install.

Also ho do I get the new install to "see" the copied over files?

Many times I have found that when I launch TBP I get a message saying TB is running but not responding. This is when I have been using TBP then closed it. It seems that the window closes (it is not minimized and not visible on the Applications sheet of Task Manager) but does not shut down TB (it is still visible in the Process sheet).

I'm not sure when this started, it seems to have been with TB 6.

Up to yesterday my TB6.0.2 was working perfectly. Today it has been loading messages extremely slowly.

I have my folders compacted regularly and I have not recently installed a new anti-virus package or upgraded my current one.

What would the other causes of this problem be please?

In the past often problems with the installation of extensions (eg Lightning) on an USB-Stick are discussed here in the forum. Mainly, this problem expressed with a message, that a Script may be busy, or it may have stopped responding (see also the screenshot Unresponsive script). The background to this alert titled "Warning: Unresponsive script" is the fact that the script just needs a little more time for processing.

Then I 'm trying install enigmail 1.3.1, I see message: script is bizy or not respond. retry or cancel? (It's my translation of russian text)

I try nigtly comm release of enigmail 9/2/2011 - same problem.

Anybody else having the same problem and any ideas how to fix this?

Installed TB 6 portable on flash drive and ran the import wizard to import my SM 2.3 mail and all other info -- it said it was successful but atlas no accounts. Any ideas what has happened?

After TB 6 there are some new updates to use for accessing webmail (hotmail, yahoo, gmail etc).

I have no problem using my portable Thunderbird for email,but when I try to attach to email from another program, like photos, it takes me to Windows Live. No option to change to Thunderbird. Any suggestions?

I had an automatic today to v6.

The AddOn page hangs and I don't no why?
