Multiple Calendars causes Master Password to be requested Multiple Times

Submitted by tsneller on July 20, 2010 - 12:20pm

I set up 6 different Google calendars in Thunderbird v3.0.4. When I then restarted Thunderbird, the Master Password was requested for Thunderbird itself (Email), and then for each Calendar - 7 times in all. I have the Google Calendar provider installed.

I then removed several calendars, and the number of prompts decreased.

Thunderbird Portable used in Libraries

Submitted by genlogin on July 13, 2010 - 12:55pm

Hi All,

I recently had to close my account with my ISP, and had to access my email via the local library. I have tried my portable thunderbird, but no avail as their firewall does not allow comunication.
I want to use this because I receive a lot of emails, and the library only gives me 2 hours a day to use, plus you have to be on the line early in the morning otherwise you don't get a go until 11 am.
Since I have to be at work it is mostly impossible.
So, does anyone knows how to use a technique to allow thunder to read my emails?

Thanks in advance, Gen.

Thunderbird stopped downloading emails

Submitted by inlandsurfer1 on July 11, 2010 - 1:12pm

For some reason Thunderbird all the sudden stopped downloading new emails from my accounts. I have for accounts and they stopped downloading all at once. I have tried downloading from each account individually with no luck. I do use my blackberry to view emails, but its not erasing them and all the new emails that I'm getting are still on my individual accounts online. What's causing this and how do I fix it?

Start TB offline from command-line?

Submitted by Burma on July 6, 2010 - 12:23pm

Here's my scenario: sometimes TB (2.0.0.24) hangs or crashes, usually because of a nasty piece of e-mail that it chokes on, or an attachment that is over-large. At such times I log on to Web-mail and kill the offending crap. I would also like to be able to start TB offline - anyone know of a way? I tried the command-line switch "-offline" which I read about somewhere but it did not work. Thanks

TB3 from TB2

Submitted by Esgrimidor on July 4, 2010 - 8:58am

Update to version 3
I use the portable thunderbird version 2
I had many problems updating to version 3
I'm still in version 2 with minor problems.
How can I update to version 3 without problems ?

Ideas

1) Install portable version 3 in parallel.

Is possible to move or export the actual profile to the new version ?
Is possible to move by parts ?
How can I copy the accounts or any other details ?

What are the files I have to look for ?

Best Regards

Problem with enigmail

Submitted by LeJav on July 2, 2010 - 9:23am

Hi,
It seems there is a bug with enigmail.
I have a path for portable TB like: D:\nxxxxx\....
According to my understanding, when portable TB starts, portable GPG sets the correct path in prefs.js for gpg.exe. But the path is not correct: it is something like D:\name\\.... There is only one \ after the D:. In the case of \n, it is interpreted as a CR by TB and gpg is not found. If I have another letter instead of n, it works well.

I have solved the problem by modifying ThunderbirdPortable.nsi line 384 by replacing:
