Thunderbird 3.0 lost mails and read only

Submitted by gpelous on January 22, 2010 - 1:10am

Hello all
I have been using Portable apps (and thunderbird apps) for a while now. No problem so far. but today, major issue :
I unplugged my USB key safely, then plugged it again and launched Thunderbird. At first it was ok but all my mails folder had dissapeared. So I close/open again only to get this error message :
"Mozilla Thunderbird appears to be running from a location that is read only" and so on. So I can't access Thunderbird anymore and I don't have my mails, adress book and Agenda.

Transfer of emails from Sandisk U3 to Standard USB drive

Submitted by John Farrell on January 20, 2010 - 11:21pm

We currently use Portable Apps Thunderbird on the Sandisk U3 Cruzer. As Sandisk Cruzer (U3) no longer downloads Skype, and as we now have Mobile broadband USB modems with additional Micro SD storage, we NEED to transfer the U3 Thunderbird email content to the standard USB drive that also uses Portable Apps Thunderbird. HOW IS THIS DONE? Please advise directly to john.farrell@can.nfib.com.au so that we can advise our small business members.
Thank you

Problem in Address Book After change language

Submitted by romelden on January 19, 2010 - 11:28pm

I am using zh-tw.xpi language pack with Locale switcher in TB3 Portable. Right now everything OK, but the quick search of address book.

Filled the search blanket and no result in Chinese, but work well after changed back to English (orgrinal from protable version) I found that there is some quick search setting in about:config. But I don't know how to do.

Please anyone kindly help, thanks.

TBP launcher terminates when restarting

Submitted by Bruce Pascoe on January 12, 2010 - 2:27pm

It appears that after restarting TB due to an extension change or whatnot, the launcher thinks TB is done and closes. While I haven't lost any data due to this (thankfully), seeing as the launcher usually doesn't clean up until Thunderbird closes, I doubt very much that this (launcher closing on restart) is the desired behavior.

Note that Notepad++ also has this issue (where it does cause issues), and I'm guessing FF does as well.
