TBP bug

Submitted by karamba on November 30, 2009 - 10:23am

Hi,

I've been using TBP 1.5.0.5 for 4 years and about 1 months ago I dicovered the following bug that I cannot solve yet - every time I move cursor to Incoming to one of my gmail accounts - TBP freezes for several minutes and then shows number of emails that exceed several times the real number of emails that are in the folder.

Seems like a bug in the database. I tried to recreate the account and move the email from the old folder to a new one, but it does not help.

Any suggestions how to solve it?

Hi,

I was wondering why my TB3 beta did not run after installation into my email directory (F:\E_M_L). After I installed it into default subdir

f:\E_M_L\ThunderbirdPortableTest\

it worked o.k. Is it done for purpose or is there bug in installer or Thunderbird portable.exe?

Thunderbrowse add-on

Submitted by whitemountain on November 24, 2009 - 12:11pm

I thought this would be a handy item, but for some reason, at TB or TBP start up, I get warnings about the browser's security component is missing. Also, certain things Thunderbrowse tries to open fail, with a message that SSL is disabled or not present. I cannot locate a way to make SSL available in TB. This message also appears when trying to check mail in GMAIL, yet the gmail acct settings have SSL checked.

any thoughts?

thank you in advance.

Just Stopped

I have the latest and greatest version of Thunderbird and yesterday, it stopped working. No changes, no updates, nothing. When I double click on the icon, it gives me the splash screen like normal then nothing. When I check task manager, there it is. The memory goes up, then down. If I click on it to end task, the end task button grays out. I let it 'attempt launch' for 15 minutes to get nothing. I also tried it on a different machine (hoping it was my PC and not my portable). Got the same results.

Thunderbird Portable and GMX

Submitted by kalalumba on November 16, 2009 - 2:58pm

Hi guys

I have joined recently the portableapps-community and I am really keen on starting to use it with my USB stick.

The only thing that I really struggle with my emails and especially with the installation of my GMX account. Have WEB.DE account installed, that works. GMX doesn't. I think I tried everything now, from changing domains(.de/.net), ports and SSL connections yes/no.

when I try to connect to GMX sometimes it says "timed out" another time "refused" (I think this was with pop.gmx.net)

Delete wrongly selects a folder instead of an email sometime

I initially reported this bug on the main Thunderbird bugzilla website, but it appears to be only happening in the PortableApps version. version 2.0.0.23 (20090812) I do not see a bugzilla website for PortableApps so guess I will report this to this forum and hope someone will act on it... Bugzilla@Mozilla – Bug 524747

What I reported was this -

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.0.14)
Gecko/2009090900 SUSE/3.0.14-0.1 Firefox/3.0.14
Build Identifier: version 2.0.0.23 (20090812)

How do I find the correct drive for signature images?

Submitted by markts on November 12, 2009 - 7:11am

Hi,

I am having a slight problem and hope someone can help me.

I have Thunderbird on a USB stick and use multiple email addresses and signatures. Images in my signature are also stored on my USB stick. As I move between computers the drive letter of the stick naturally changes. Thunderbird cannot find my signature images simply because it is looking in the wrong drive. I have temporarily resolved this by keeping the images on my net server but would like to link them directly to the folder on my USB stick. How can I rectify this?

Thank you,
