Thunderbird Portable

It used to work for TB2.

For TB3 I now just have a message "does not provide secure updates" in the Add-ons screen.

I tried adding boolean "extensions.checkUpdateSecurity=false" as outlined in mozillazine but it does not seem to work.

I have just upgraded to thunderbird 3 and have found it to be very sluggish in all respects.

I am running it on a Corsair 16gb Flash Voyager GT drive which is about as fast as a usb flash drive comes.

I have found that switching off Global Search & Indexer fixes the issue, and i think even makes it faster than tbird 2!

Only thing is that it also switches off one of the fantastic new features of Tbird 3

Has anyone else come up with a better solution? My mail folder is approx 1gb.

TBP fails to send mail, I can recive mail från others without any problem.
When I try to send mail the ususal password question and after a couple of seconds I got a sign with buttons 'Retry','New password' and 'Cancel'. Didn't matter if I set the correct password or not the same sign popped up.

I deleted and reconfigurated the SMTP and still the same. After that I reconfigured the whole account but no differens. Then I downgraded to TBP 2.0.0.23 and it worked directly.

I've decided to run my email program from my Thunderbird portable on my thumb drive only. How can I move all my files and messages from my Thunderbird on my hard drive to my Thunderbird portable. Can't drag and dump, because I can't open both at one time. Can anyone help me on this one?

I have upgraded my Thunderbird 2.0.23 to version 3.0 and it "lost" my gmail connection and my lightening extension (for dates). Do I have to totally reconfigure version 3.0 or is this a bug or an incompatibility of version 3.0?

I have two copies of Thunderbird 2.0.23 (build 20090812). I notice that the dates on the exe's are different, but when I do an about I get the same build number.

Here is the problem I am having....I am sure that it is a Windows 7 "feature" but I can't figure out why it is happening...

anyone encounter this problem during installation? it prompts error during installation.

tested installed on both version 2.0.0.23 and 3.0.0

I already had problems with the "Check mail" button under Thunderbird 2.x (solved it by using the "Get all mails" plugin). Now after upgrading to Thunderbird 3.0 I have the same problem again. Furthermore the "Get all mail" plugin is not working anymore now, too.
This means: When I try to check for mail via menu, tool bar button or "Get all mail" button just nothing happens at all. Sending mail is working fine.

Any help would be highly appreciated! Thanks!

Hi, I installed thunderbird portable and imported everything from Outlook Express. It went great. Problem is, I was using 2 identities in Outlook Express and I got everything imported from the first, but nothing from the second.
I tried switching the identities in Outlook Express but Thunderbird portable always imports everything from the first identity?
Please help.

I have upgraded to tbp 3 today (09/12/10) and I've noticed that I am losing emails that I archive. I have emails in the archive from the 8th 12, so I have effectively lost two days of emails.

I tested this by emailing myself and archiving the email. It disappears. It isn't in the archive 'folder' nor can it be found by searching. I can get the test email back by ctrl+z, but that only works for the emails archived in this session.

I've also tested this in RC2 and it has the same problem.

I've set tbp3 to never delete emails.
