Don't Want All Component Icons

Submitted by reepicheep on April 29, 2009 - 1:23pm

I don't use the Impress, or Draw or Math components so I don't want them to show in the menu. Back in version 1 I achieved that by blatting away the PortableApps mini-applications. Now in the new version I have to go edit the appinfo file to remove them from the menu. Worse if I adjust the number of icons and comment out the lines for the unwanted applications.

Open Office App Selection

Submitted by hollandmc on April 27, 2009 - 2:34pm

When I installed Open Office on a usb drive recently I somehow did not show all the individual apps but only OpenOffice.org.Portable. I just installed it again for someone else and all the individual apps are shown on the menu.

What do I need to do to revert to the single openoffice.org.portable menu entry?

Thanks

[Solved] AltSearch extension

Submitted by mupan on April 22, 2009 - 2:46am

I use OOo Portable 3.0.0 on Win XP both from USB stick or hard drive. I thought it was not necessary that an extension is prepared to work together with a portable version, cause I further thought any registry and user directory access would be redirected to \OpenOfficePortable\... by OOo itself. But it seems as if I was mistaken.

At least http://extensions.services.openoffice.org/project/AltSearch won't install properly in Writer, and what's worse, it won't de-install correctly as well.

OpenOffice.org MATH!

Submitted by Roland7 on April 1, 2009 - 4:58pm

I've installed the suite - noticed Math was on there. Did a little reading on it and decided I don't need it. Closed Open Office suite, went into MyComp and clicked on my L drive to open the files. Selected math and deleted it. It's still hanging on in the suite directory like a crack floozy to a violent pimp! How do I release this leach?

Open Office Base and Java

Submitted by JoeCoolOne on March 25, 2009 - 8:55pm

I installed Open Office 3.0.1 --- I ran java porablizer 1.1 -- OOBase gave me the error that java JRE was defective. I also copied java j2re1.4.2_13 j2re1.4.2_19 jre1.6.0_13 to the usb drive into the correct directory and edited the ini file. I received the same error message with each version.

Is there a specific version of java that needs to be loaded?

OpenOffice 3.0.1 fr - some international files always here

Submitted by Helper on March 25, 2009 - 1:44pm

Hi,

In my installation of your open office 3.0.1 french package, i have found many international files (.ott) under this repertory :
OpenOfficePortable\App\openoffice\Basis\share\template\wizard\letter
This represent aproximatively 5 Mb.

Do you think these could be self removed from the installation ?

thanks in advance
