[Question] Diffpdf registry key

Today I found the following reg keys after running Diffpdf:

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Wisp
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Wisp\Pen
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Wisp\Pen\Persist

I didnt notice those keys on my clean virtual machine.

Anyone know if I have to back them up?
I dont know what wisp is and I think its weird that they are a subkey of microsoft.

PAL, variables

Submitted by Devildevilscle on March 28, 2011 - 2:07am

Is there a way get a specific path from the registry?
For example, the app writes its settings at the registry.

HKCU\Software\AppName\defpath=REG_SZ:c:\Mydocuments

When the app runs, it creates a path that saves files it creates.

I want to move those files at the App's folder(AppName\App), but the path is very irregular. And the only way to have it is thru the registry.

And, aside from those found at the manual, are other variables that may be used?

Language switching don't work correct in qBittorrent Portable

Submitted by tapsklaps on March 27, 2011 - 9:42pm

Due to the section [FileWrite1] in the file qBittorrentPortable.ini the language switching don't work correct.

  1. Case 1: Usage as standalone program
    english language can't be changed
  2. Case 2: Usage in PA.c Menu
    system language can't be changed

When the whole section [FileWrite1] is removed, then it works correctly again.

Usage of Search Engines in qBittorrent Portable

Submitted by tapsklaps on March 27, 2011 - 4:27pm

In the actual release I can't use the feature of the Search Engine Tab, because no search engines are integrated in the app. Therefore it's necessary, that at first I download some search engines frome the website http://plugins.qbittorrent.org. In order to maintain the portability of the program, I would create a folder called "Search Engine " in the Data directory, in which I put the appropriate search engines.

PAL, how to handle that prefetcher?

Submitted by Devildevilscle on March 27, 2011 - 5:18am

I,ve been portabilizing an app here in our office that we usually use and i was able to and it had been a success, yet, i found out that our app was still leaving a trace at C:\windows\prefetch
our app save's it's settings at the registry at
HKCU\Software\Author\AppName
And i was able to portabilize that. But what else should i do so that our could run without leaving an AppName1234.pf file at C:\windows\prefetch?

SeaMonkey 2.0.13 is not portable!

Submitted by steve_gutry on March 27, 2011 - 1:11am

Win XPpro sp2.

It creates
C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application Data\Mozilla\Extensions\{92650c4d-4b8e-4d2a-b7eb-24ecf4f6b63a}

and
C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application Data\Mozilla\SeaMonkey\crash reports

Not a major problem for me since I only have this installed for use if my main browser has problems, but it should not create these entries.

I downloaded, md5sumed and installed it successfully. When I click the menu link the splash screen comes on, goes away and nothing else seems to be happening. I'm on a fresh install of XP Pro SP3 with all the OS updates. Nothing have been installed excluding the "Windows Update" site installed updates and my copied World of Warcraft program folder on my Z partition.
