jPortable can't run SipToSis

Submitted by lwc on May 19, 2013 - 5:40am

SipToSis is a program with a batch file that runs java.exe directly with various parameters.
Alas, those parameters aren't accepted by jPortable's java.exe.
Instead of accepting the parameters, jPortable's java.exe treats it as if you tried to run "java.exe /?".

Why is this? Please test SipToSis (it's free) with jPortable. Thanks!

No portable MiniTool Power Data Recovery - here? Other reputable sources?

Submitted by christina_a on May 11, 2013 - 7:08pm

I don't find MiniTool Power Data Recovery portable offered here. There are sources & Gizmo's mentions a portable version (not from dev) is available, but no suggestions.

I don't recognize any of the sites offering the portable version, so a bit leery.
Usually find what I need here. Maybe others have experience w/ some sites offering it - or others I haven't found, yet?

I know nothing about any of these sites or if any files from them could be trusted as far as I can throw a cow.

Thanks.

Bug Report: Notepad++ Portable -- Settings lost on update

Submitted by webfork on May 9, 2013 - 9:45pm

Setup: Win7x64, Notepad++ 6.3.1 (I believe, it *might* have been 6.3.2)

Steps:

1. Have Notepad++ running (did not close it, quite by accident)
2. Download Run the updater NotepadPlusPlusPortable_6.3.3.paf.exe on top of the existing install.
3. Got an error message, closed the program, clicked Retry
4. Successful extraction, let "Launch" checked at the end
5. Started up the program, nothing unusual, then enabled the new DSpellCheck "Autocheck document" feature. When nothing happened, I restarted

SeaMonkey Portable folder/file locations

Submitted by Ben09880 on May 6, 2013 - 6:08pm

I use SeaMonkey Portable, the latest version updated through the launcher.

Recently, I've started using themes in it.

I want to make my own theme.

The guides online list different locations for various files that I cannot locate within my portable version.

Can you please list the file changes between the portable versus standard install?

Specifically, I need all the CSS file locations.

I can't find any CSS files within my installation... and I know I'm using some, because I have themes active.

Suggestion for icon edit_Saving_IcoFx_Greenfish

Submitted by christina_a on May 3, 2013 - 8:06pm

Having a bit of trouble saving edited graphic files (with NO square background) to .ico without adding the square background. The only app I've tried that will save in .ico is IrfanView. It works, but even if have a round image w/ no visible background, it won't KEEP the background transparent, when save it to .ico.

Will IcoFX or Greenfish save "free form" graphics as icons, w/o adding the square background? Either by opening the already edited .jpg / .png files, etc., then converting; or editing / drawing in these programs themselves?
