I have an issue with 2 of portable apps: with AkelPad and uTorrent:
If I kill their processes (which is not a proper closure of those programs) a useless error shows up, when the user tries to run them again.

The error says something like:

While I was exploring my OperaPortable profile trying to find my missing settings (due to faulty update as in previous topic) I discovered 2 folders with Chinese style characters. They contain another folder called pstorage. There is also a Chinese DAT file. They are dated 10/07/2012.

Is this normal?

I have just (10 minutes ago) allowed updates to Firefox, Thunderbird and Opera.
The first two are fine, but Opera (12.15) is like a brand new installation.

This is my main browser and email client, so I have just lost all my contacts, saved settings, passwords, history and Speed Dial.

Is there any way to roll back to previous version or to recover my settings?

I wanted to post a warning to prevent anyone else experiencing this.

Is anyone else experiencing the following issue when running gPodder Portable:
The Splash screen is displayed, the gPodder icon shows in the system tray, and then nothing. Hovering over the icon shows a Linux looking pop-up of just "gPodder" while clicking with either right or left mouse buttons does not result in anything.

I'm using qBittorrent 3.0.9. Every time I exit the program I get an error message that says "qbittorrent.exe has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Please close the program." Then I click on the 'close program' button and it exits. Why does it do this every time? I haven't downloaded anything with qbittorrent yet.

I also installed the non-portable version of qbittorrent to see if it did the same thing but it exits without any problem.

When I try to print Google Calendar using the portable version of Google Chrome I only get 'US Holidays' and not 'my calendar'. I don't have this problem with an installed copy of Chrome nor Mozilla Firefox Portable nor Internet Explorer.

A google search brought up a 10/16/2012 comment: "Google Calendar’s printing
feature only works with Adobe Acrobat versions 6.0.1 and up at this time."

I have a problem with smart playlists in Songbird.
I can't create a smart playlist using the file path filter.

The playlist will be there, but the elements i use as filter (like "file path starts with 'I:\Documents\Music\albums'" or "file path contains 'Music\albums'") seam to be useless : files from other folders will be there...

I don't know whether this issue has something to do with using portable applications or whether it is a genuine SongBird bug.

Anyone having the same issue ?

I have the problem that I have only a windows without network and would like to get the smplayer running.

I download form my ubuntu machine where I'm connected to the Internet the three packages

PortableApps.com_Platform_Setup_11.2.exe
SMPlayerPortable_0.8.3.paf.exe
SMPlayer_Portable_MPlayer_Codec_Addon_1.1_online.paf.exe

I run the first two exe-files successfully on my windows, by the last did not work, because it want to download something from the internet.

I talked about with the author, and told me that we don't need more than extract all of the installation files, to make it portable, but it fails to me.

Could you check if it can be release a portable?
