As a long time user of FFS as a portable app I am pleased it has joined the PA.com family.

I have a big question about where it puts files changed by the user, however, and will continue using my own setup until I am convinced about the info in
\PortableApps\FreeFileSyncPortable\help.html

For example won't
\PortableApps\FreeFileSyncPortable\App\FreeFileSync\GlobalSettings.xml
get overwritten on the next upddate?

Why should I put my *.ffs_gui and *.ffs_batch files in
\PortableApps\FreeFileSyncPortable\App\FreeFileSync\

Scrolling capture in latest PicPick portable version doesn't work in Firefox 18. But then, a lot of screen capture prgms scrolling capture doesn't work.

I tried changing capture scrolling delay, but no change. It will work in certain other app & things like Explorer windows. Even then, doesn't seem to capture screen part that is wider than the monitor.

Anyone had any success w/ this in Firefox?

PicPick portable 3.2.1 in Vista x64. Can't figure out how to save custom colors - either to the 3rd row of (blank) color sample squares, on main UI; or in the color palate, where, just like in Windows desktop personalization, it allows to click a blank square for custom colors, then choose custom color, then save as custom color.

If use color picker in PicPick, it will put the color in the selected foreground / background color box, depending on if R or L click, once hover over a color. But see no way to save a custom color like that, in one of the blank 3rd row color squares.

IF you want to use Google as you standard search engine, you can do that only with google.com, not with google.fr or google.de etc.
No possibility to change parameters...= english language reasults are displayed first.
Rather useless if you speak french or german.

Yes, you can add other search engine, but I could not find a way to make them standard.

Any ideas?

This was going to be a post about SIW and SIWPortable version 2011-10-29 not working on Windows 8.

But maybe we should have a larger discussion about what to do about highlighting OS limits on different softwares (at the old end or the new end) as we stumble across the glitches.

I know in the past there has been much concern about the end user getting something that won't work (such as requiring .NET). I view this as roughly equivalent.

When this item downloads via the built in "Portable App Directory", it is listed as "Rufus". I know Rufus is also available but there were two Rufus's. I was able to figure it out because they each have a different Icon and one of the Rufus's had the Unetbootin Icon. When the download finished it was listed correctly in the application just wrong in the app directory/downloader.

Both applications seem fine once they are downloaded and installed.

I am not sure if this is the correct place but I wanted to pass this along.

You couldn't run two instances of Firefox Portable before, from 2 directories side-by-side:
FirefoxPortable1
FirefoxPortable2
Now it seems to be this problem is solved.

I still can't run two instances of IronPortable from separate directories like:
IronPortable1
IronPortable2
Can you?

ok, question.
is skype portable, compatible with msn's account transfer.
as we know, somwhere in march Microsoft pulls the plug for MSN messenger.
and skype is gonne be there primary chat shity. xD
so, can we import our MSN contact list ,and log in to skype portable.
anyway, i tried it several times here, but it wont let me.
any advice and tips ?

The default value of SingleAppInstance is true. Accordingly is the entry
"SingleAppInstance=true" in the file ScribusPortable.ini unnecessary.

After the closure of IObitUnlocker Portable I detected, that the registry key HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\Root\LEGACY_IOBITUNLOCKER remains in the registry. Furthermore I can't delete this registry key.
