Master password behaviour changed?

I found a usb key that i used John's awesome Portable Firefox on years ago. I had a master password set. I notice that when I first start up Firefox it immediately asks for the master password.

I downloaded the latest apps suite program and installed the new Portable Firefox. I set a master password but it doesn't prompt you for it until you go to a site needing login details. It seems you can use the browser to your heart's content as long as you avoid a login page. This means someone can browse all your bookmarks also.

I know this has been asked before but all the search results were relatively old so here goes: Is there any way I can protect my passwords etc if I lose my usb drive or it gets stolen please? I'm thinking "No" so is the only option a usb drive that comes with encryption? Thank you!

are you kidding me? I was always a big fan of portableapps, but its ridiculous that you force me to have my "portable" apps installed in a special place, for it is not allowed to install them in the usual place where all apps are installed.

what means "portable" to you? you dont have to tell me, what I do on my computer. its embarassing.

AIMP not so portable

Submitted by tobalsan on September 16, 2012 - 3:52pm

Hi,

i recently changed my main computer (from desktop to laptop). Anyway, as a heavy user of portable apps, i moved all my apps onto the new hard drive, and everything went fine except for AIMP Portable.

When I launched it, it forgot all the settings i used on the previous computer. I kept a copy on my previous computer, so i could recheck, and it is definitely an issue: the programs stores data in the

C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\AIMP3

folder (i got all my apps on another drive, in a "Apps" folder at its root).

Hi,

Creating folder
When I open Mozilla:

C:\Users\myuser\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Extensions
C:\Users\myuser\AppData\Roaming\\Mozilla\Firefox
C:\Users\myuser\AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox

When I open Foxit reader:
C:\Users\myuser\AppData\Roaming\Foxit Software
C:\Users\myuser\AppData\Roaming\Foxit Software\Foxit Reader
C:\Users\myuser\AppData\Roaming\Foxit Software\RMS

When I close one of them they are deleting automatically.

I have all my portableapps on D:\ drive. Windows 7 has installed on my C:\ drive.

Online store issue

Has anyone else noticed that if you go to the online store, under the Office section, Mozilla Sunbird, Portable Edition shows up. However, if you go through the PA.com Platform via Apps, then Get More Apps... you see Mozilla Sunbird, Portable Edition 2nd Profile, but not Mozilla Sunbird, Portable Edition? I just noticed this...
