Firefox is open source, right? Then why are there so many licensing agreements? We use the company name and the phrase "portable edition" in the menu, we cannot remove auto update, the homepage can not be Portableapps.com by default, and third parties may not modyfy it. What is with that?

I think it's about time we did a forum reorganization. Especially now that we're bring on more and more apps. The one forum per app model just won't work.

So, we're left with a decision.

One "PortableApps.com App Support" Forum - One big app support forum where people can ask questions.

Category Support Forums - Broken down by category based on our app categories (Accessibility, Development, Games, etc).

PAM 1.1, R30, R31?

Submitted by meep.com on May 23, 2008 - 2:32pm

I was just wondering, what are the benefits/drawbacks/differences of each. I am currently using R31, but I was wondering if I should go to R30 or PAM 1.1
I was just concerned that some of my configurations might be lost if I did change. Also, will my themes [for R31] work with the other ones?
Thanks

Problems with opening portable exe on public comp?

Submitted by MeCasa on May 23, 2008 - 8:24am

Are there problems with opening a portable exe while on a public computer. I travel with a motorcycle and I'm tired of bringing my lappie. I have partitioned a 2.5 enclosure so I could install Ubuntu on one drive with my data on separate drives. I did this in the hope that I could boot into Ubuntu on a library computer but you can't boot because you don't have admin rights to change the boot order so......

So I'm hoping I can install portable apps on the drive and use these apps to access my enclosure data.

Will a public computer allow me to open a portable exe?
