App List is Blank

Submitted by geronimo52 on February 26, 2012 - 12:44pm

When I select an app from the Portable App Directory and click Next, I see a confirmation that the app was installed and available in the PortableApps.com menu. When I look at the App Platform menu there is nothing listed. What am I doing wrong?

OK. I wasn't checking the check box by the app. It works fine.

Submitted by tibbi64 on February 23, 2012 - 4:41pm

I tried adding the exe file to the start up folder, but it won't start. Also how do I get it to auto start when I plug in the flash drive? I have windows 7 32. I thought when I had it on another flash drive it did auto start.

Thanks,

I tried to follow the instruction located at https://portableapps.com/node/30214 after my netbook gave me a BSOD. Here's the problem. The file in question is already gone, but uTorrent still refuses to load. What else can I look for. It was a pretty bad system crash, so...

Portable VirtualBox to portablize any and every app you want?

Submitted by dividschmivid on February 22, 2012 - 12:59pm

so this is my first post. i've been all over this portable app scene for years. i have close to 2000 programs in portable format open source and otherwise. while i don't use them all, they are just waiting to be used when the time or task is right. i generally have anywhere from 5-700 programs installed on my system that have a high potential use rate. wish i could upload a dir2html list of them for brainstorming purposes. and the funny thing is i find out every day that there are new and useful programs being released all over the web.

Does DamnVid work for Everyone?

Submitted by Gayan Perera on February 22, 2012 - 4:24am

DamnVid doesn't seem to work for me - I tried giving it full access with Kaspersky, but I think the problem is the program itself. I tried with the normal version on their website, and it still didn't work.

I was trying to download a video from YouTube, but it just doesn't seem to work. I've tried other video downloader programs(the normal desktop versions)and all of them work, apart from DamnVid.

Just want to know is it just me(and XP) or do other people have similar problems with this software

Thanks
