Can't write to .ini

Submitted by crookadile on August 28, 2009 - 6:02am

Hi, sorry if this is in the wrong section or has been asked before but I have searched the forum and can't find the answer.

I have recently bought a new flash drive with a write protect switch.I am now using this drive for my portable apps. The problem I have is that when I try to close the menu I get a message saying :-
"Unable to write to F:\PortableApps\PortableApps.Com\Data\PortableAppsMenu.ini"

I can only close the menu if I unlock the drive or pull the drive from the USB socket.

Summary-page with version-numbers for all programs

Submitted by hajo on August 27, 2009 - 4:34pm

Currently, the version-numbers for all the programs that are part of portable-apps
are only shown on their respective download-pages, and those of the last few updates in the news-sidebar.

It would be useful to have a summary-page showing the version-numbers
(and the date of the last update) for all programs, e.g. as a table.

XP bare essential IT lockdown...

Submitted by Maggew on August 27, 2009 - 3:33pm

Hello,

Recently my work computer underwent a new Image Boot Load. The copy of XP is bare essentials!

RIGHT Button Mouse click and window shortcut keys are disabled.
Internet Options disabled
Control Panel and My computer disabled
etc..

Only thing you can really do is access the pre installed programs and the Network Drive and navigate and view the network map set up.

Also, I can log into router as a guest...

The internet works for just about every website...and I know if that's the case there must be a way to ACCESS my USB thumb drive?!?!?

Development of Launchers for Non Free Applications

Submitted by Saij on August 27, 2009 - 3:22am

Hi,

sorry if this was already posted some time ago - didn't find something with Google or the search function (or I'm to dumb to use it).

I would like to make TotalCommander (and some other non free applications - but I will use only TotalCommander in this post as example) portable so I could use it every where I go (yeah I have a license).

Submitted by witsunny on August 23, 2009 - 8:15pm

Hi

I just wanted to know that whether portable apps can be used on
flash card such as microSD and others. Using this flash card along with multi card reader in a computer can portable apps work same as on a pen drive.

thanks
