how can i convert a portable app and get it to the luncher?
We are looking for a programmer that can re-format this program for our new game (see our website www.wildtallahasseepoker.com (the how to play video)
and make it work like PokerApps
BUT "FORMAT IT" according to our new game .....
Allowing vistors to our site to try our new game AND THEN once they stop playing they will be(thanked for trying our new game) and then re-direct that visitor to our contact page to send comments about our game.
Is this possible?
is it scheduled to have a feature where the updater can save the installers (to a given folder maybe) instead of deleting them when its done?
btw where are the downloaded installers placed??
Hi John,
I just try out dropbox as a clowd to run Portable Apps in.
Is it possible to start the Portable Apps menu directly in Dropbox via web access and not from the local sync folder?
If I try so I get problems with finding the exe-files. This might be caused by the ini settings from the local sync folder. Do you have an idea how to solve this? Maybe relative paths might help but how does our platform handle this?
From the philosophy of portable apps it should be possible, shouldn't it?
Thanks in advance!

I can not rename my PortableApps.com-Enabled Drive. I followed these instructions:
To rename your PortableApps.com-enabled drive, just click on the drive name in the lower left corner of the menu. Type in the name you'd like and click the ">" button or hit enter on your keyboard. You may need to eject and reinsert your drive for the new name to show up in Windows Explorer.
After I type the name and click the ">" button (or hit enter), error message appears: Unable to write to G:\autorun.inf (G = my USB flash drive).
I would like to strongly suggest to bring back the win+space shortcut! It has never worked badly for me, for for me there was no valid reason for removing it. Furthermore, ctrl+alt+space is a pain to press. Just try it, the win-key is between the ctrl and alt. Ctrl+alt+space is very difficult to press without using your thumb. With the use of your thumb, you need to put your hand in an akward position. And all along the chance of accidentally pressing the win-key.
Win+space is MUCH MORE easy to press, by pinky+index finger.
Along with my other topic about typing an application name (which no longer works), selecting one using the up/down keys has never worked, which is kind of an annoyance when my hands happen to be on the keyboard (hence, the reason for using ctrl+alt+space). I would like to suggest making PA fully keyboard accessible, and that doesn't mean assigning arbitrary keystrokes to the buttons on the right, which is the case atm, but that means being able to navigate the menu by arrow keys and typing partial names.
This is PA 10.1.2.
How to do this in PA 10.1.2? Left or right click expands or collapses a category, so renaming a category seems impossible, let alone changing the icon.
For some reason PA makes an arbitrary decision to use Iron to open the support link (and others), which is one of the browser that happens to be installed on my system. My default browser is Opera, so any URL that is opened I want in Opera. Iron is not the default, for anything.
PA 10.1.2 on Windows 7 x64, Opera 12 is the default.
In the latest update (10.1.2), you can no longer do ctrl+alt+space and type the name of an application. In stead, it opens one of the buttons on the right, depending on the keys you happen to hit. Type "th" for thunderbird and the help-button is "clicked".
