[Closed] How to avoid having PortableApps Platform showing up in Alt+Tab ?

Submitted by chrisfox on June 18, 2022 - 10:15am

Hi,

I am really annoying having PortableApps Platform showing up in Windows Alt-Tab:
https://imgur.com/a/IAciqcL (I have added a smiley on the item I want to get removed)

Windows never included its Windows start menu in the Alt-Tab so why does PortableApps does that ?
I do not understand the concept behind? why do you need this ?

Cool date in update dialog

Submitted by Xandl on June 14, 2022 - 5:44pm

Hello,

the update dialog displays "2022-06-00" in the date field for SumatraPDF 3.4.6.
That's not really a big deal or problem, it just tells me that is a manually entered date, in stead of the upload date.
Just liked to mention it.
I made a screenshot, but cant see how to attach it here.

Cheers,
Xandl

Java JRE Download Link

Submitted by burnuser on June 7, 2022 - 8:48am

Some Apps need Java to work.
Most of them needs an actual JRE, which is also a much smaller installation-file than the full JDK.
The JRE has also its own directory at sourceforge: https://sourceforge.net/projects/portableapps/files/OpenJDK%20JRE%20Port...

But in the App directory I can only find the JDK version to download, not the JRE (or maybe I'm to blind to see it.)

Folder Icons

Submitted by WolfsInk on June 1, 2022 - 10:44am

I'm working on a thumb drive for soon to be CompSci student who just graduated high school when I'd noticed that the core folder icons PortableApps creates aren't all from the same cookie cutter. My OCD kicked in a bit and I made them all to have the same folder shape and similar colors to the originals. I placed them in the ..\PortableApps\PortableApps.com\App\Graphics\WindowsFolderIcons folder and replaced the originals, but for some reason when I tried it on a new PC they just looked like normal folders.

System Shutdown prevented after apps update ends, until "Finish" button pressed

Submitted by andublin on May 26, 2022 - 6:07am

Bug: Microsoft Windows [Version 10.0.19044.1706] 64 bit, and current version of PortableApps,
Only a minor annoyance:
System Shutdown is prevented after apps update ended, until "Finish" button is pressed
Maybe unnecessary system modal dialogue box? (please forgive me if terminology incorrect)

To reproduce:

One or more apps update is started, left running and user is doing other work in foreground.

Categories

I would like more control over categories.
I would like to easily remove, rename, and add new categories.
Moving a list of apps to a new category is cumbersome and emptying an unwanted category means moving numerous apps somewhere else.
Can this be done through the .ini file?
