Submitted by Zelium on June 30, 2017 - 1:00pm

Hi guys,

been using PortableApps for years, and been very happy with it, was many times a "life-saver"!

I've switched to a Mac few days ago and I'm trying to figure out on how to use PortableApps on Mac via PlayOnMac,
as here - https://portableapps.com/download - is written:
"Also Works With: Linux, Unix, BSD, etc via Wine & Mac OS X via CrossOver, Wineskin, WineBottler, PlayOnMac"

[Bug] Platform/Launcher DisableAppLanguageSwitching Environment Variable Handling

Submitted by JLim on June 23, 2017 - 12:34am

Platform ver. 14.4.1
I tested using a custom code in an application and found that:

The Platform alway return a false value for the environment variable %PAL:_IgnoreLanguage% regardless the option of "Use this language for all portable apps" in the platform is tick or not. Same result if the platform is restarted after changing the option.

However in "..\PortableApps.com\Data\PortableAppsMenu.ini" "Localization" section, the key "DisableAppLanguageSwitching" does give a correct value.

Slim layout / touch feature

Submitted by anubis_genix on June 19, 2017 - 6:56am

There are two things I'd like to adress with my feature request. I keep my PA-Platform synced between two PC's and a Cube i9 Windows Tablet.
Is there a way to make the application list scrollable via touch gestures? I happen to open applications by accident by missing the narrow scrollbar with my fingers.
The second request is a slimmed-down version of the launcher layout. Something like this: http://abload.de/image.php?img=pa0qutd.png
Thanks in advance

Allow Menu to Explore Elsewhere

"Customization of the folders' (Documents, etc) name, icon and location to open..." is "Confirmed Coming In An Upcoming Release"
However I need it now as I am transitioning friends and family from ASuite which has this facility.
So I have knocked up a little app in a compiled NSIS Script which takes the required folder from an INI file and calls Explorer.
Download it from here to give it a try:
