PortableApps.com Platform

Unfortunately the Portableapps platform no longer updates apps. If I open the platform, click apps then check for updates, nothing happens.

I've tried reinstalling the platform and also downloading and installing the platform to a new location. however it appears the settings for the portable apps platform are ironically not portable, and the new download of the platform in a new location carries over the same settings. So if the problem is corruption then I have no way to delete the old settings or use a new instance without settings.

I have two machines with similar PA.c installs. When I periodically run "Update all apps", on one machine all apps are updated and all I have to do is click "Finish." On the other, I have to click through the installers of all the apps . The set of apps updating usually the same.

What would make the second install require all that clicking?

On this site there is "CrystalDiskInfo" program version 7.6.0. I found an upgrade 7.6.1 in a zip format, how to install it on the memory stick on this portable platform.

I have not used portable apps for many months. Today I upgraded the platform as well as 26 programs. All of this worked on my Win 10 machine the last time I utilized it. Now, each and every program fails to start and produces the following error message:

This application was unable to start correctly (0Xc000007b) Click OK to close the application.

The name off each individual program that I am trying to start is also at the top of the dialog.

I've noticed that all the Firefox icons in the installer pop-up menu are outdated ones, and that the 2nd profile for Mozilla Firefox's icons also do not match the current Quantum icons. I am thinking that this is because of older versions, but most of all the Beta and Developer edition icons are bugging me.

I recently transferred all of my Portable Apps from one USB drive to another. Since then, the PortableApps.com platform won't work. All of my other apps will, but the app launcher itself won't. I've tried uninstalling and re-installing, ejecting and re-inserting drive, but nothing seems to help. I'm not seeing an error message anywhere, it just won't start up. I've been running Portable Apps for years and have transferred files this way before, and have never run into this problem. I'm not sure where to look next to troubleshoot. Thanks for whatever help you can offer.

Requirements:
- Windows 7 64
- Fast filesystem (I'm using Samsung Evo 960 PCIe drive)
- Start,exe located on fast filesystem
- user is automatically logging in after system startup
- shortcut to start.exe is added to startup folder: C:\Users\[user]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
- I'm using RamDisk: ImsDisk or SoftPerfect. Unfotunatelly - it is not a service, but program executed from HKLM\Software\Microsoft\CurrentVersion\Run
- RamDisk automatically mounts RAM drive, let's say T: and then creates T:\Temp folder

System: Windows 7 64

Scenario:

There should exist at least one app ready for update
- Start Apps/CheckForUpdate
- Accept update
- Wait till the end

Big Notification dialog box appears, containing Close button. Do not close

Initiate Windows Shutdown process

Updater prevents windows shutdown

Expected: I expect, that updater window should close - there is nothing to do, allowing windows to shutdown
