Portable fonts in Inkscape Portable

Submitted by nickd on September 22, 2015 - 7:20am

Hello all,

This is my first post, hopefully I'm in the right place.

I am trying to use Inkscape Portable with custom fonts. I read a guide on this site that said fonts can be installed in the 'Fonts' directory (though that may need to be created manually), in the following path:

X:\PortableApps\PortableApps.com\Data\Fonts in a standard platform setup.

So, I copied them to:

C:\Users\username\PortableApps\PortableApps.com\Data\Fonts

Unclear error message: The specified file was not found!

Hi !

I run the platform for a year now, but suddenly I get an error message after starting the platform. A dialog with a "red X" titled "PortableApps.com Platform" and saying "The specified file was not found."

How can I find out whats going wrong?

Thanks for your help.

[Solved] Duplicate icons when pinning Apps to the taskbar

Submitted by Reinhold on September 16, 2015 - 12:58pm

Windows 10 Home 64-bit [Build: 10240]
PortableApps.com Platform 12.1
Installation Path: C:\Users\reinhold\Suites\PortableApps

I wanted to pin my favorite apps to the taskbar:
Firefox
Q-Dir
Notepad++

As it wasn't possible to pin the launchers (e.g PortableApps\Notepad++Portable\NotepadPortable.exe) directly, I created shortcuts to those programs on my desktop and pinned the shortcuts to the taskbar, this worked allright.

Sourceforge Adware Injection

I'm having trouble updating both Chrome and Skype - it appears that the SonicWALL Gateway AV now considers SourceForge's injected adware worthy of blocking. ("This request is blocked by the SonicWALL Gateway Anti-Virus Service. Name: InstallCore.A_43 (Adware)")

SF used to be great, but these days...any chance you guys will be switching to less scummy project hosting soon?
