Color Themes?

Submitted by LadyBug679 on January 7, 2016 - 12:06pm

I have PortableApps on my work computer because they have things locked down pretty tight, so if I want to use a specific font or something, I just put it in my PortableApps so that it's available... I'm just curious if I can also download templates and themes and use them the same way... I currently have some color themes for PPT that I need to use and I wasn't sure if I could put them in PortableApps somehow to make them accessible or how to if it was possible

How select platform (32 or 64 bit) for a PortableApp that uses separate installers?

Submitted by AnthonyCarmichael on January 7, 2016 - 5:20am

I just installed PortableApps on W764. Looks like I'm going to start going Portable as much as I can going forward.

I selected several apps that I've previously installed using windows installers such as ditto.

Ditto has a 32 bit and 64 bit installers; PortableApps installed the 32 bit version. Same with 7-zip...

Is there someplace to override this, or will I just need to manually install programs like ditto 64bit when this happens... and then manage updates in the future instead of having PortableApps do that?

GUI bug in the PortableApps Platform

Submitted by PortableGood on December 27, 2015 - 1:46pm

I encountered what is at least a GUI bug in the PortableApps Platform while installing a bunch of PortableApps.

I selected about a half-dozen PortableApps to download and install from the PA Platform. While downloading, the Platform indicated that one of the apps, which was only about 100MB in size, was going to take close to an hour to download. I clicked "Cancel" for that app, and allowed the others to download and install.

Updater: Calm the updater

During an update done by PortableApps.coms Updater some applications asked always for a folder name and if this applications should be installed.
This might be right for an installer, but a Updater should work calm and without interaction with the user, or?

Is it possible to do the update processes quiet?
(Wasn't this the behaviour before?)

PA.c Platform 12.2 and Win10 - Desktop issues

Submitted by shulist on December 19, 2015 - 1:13pm

I have never turned on the option to "Hide Desktop Icons". However in the most recent release of PA.c 12.2 there is a weird thing happening. Upon upgrading the PA platform it seems the option was checked (by default?) and alluded my attention for sometime. I am a neat freak and don't use the desktop to any extent, however I did notice that the right-click context menu is not available. Once I tracked down the offending checkbox and removed the entry all was back in order.
