Platform 12.0.4 blocking WIN XP-Sp3

Submitted by UAZ on September 9, 2014 - 10:09am

After starting the platform the updater is running and blocking everything. It can be killed only by electrically closing the PC. Windows shut down, TaskManager and Unlocker do not help. It even seems to me that it destroyed the raid of volume D while the platform was running on C (an SSD).

This is true for an updated existing platform (11.2), for starting PortApps after restart of the PC and for starting a fresh installed platform.

Customizing for Accessibility

Greetings,

I used PortableApps.com Platform when it was first released and now I am once again.
It's very well done and excellent work.

This is either a feature request or an "is this currently possible" thing.

Is it possible to increase the global font size (I do already have Use Larger Fonts enabled)?
How about the font family? Can that be changed?
And what about the icon sizes for apps?

As far as the font settings, the only place that I could think to look was in PATheme.ini but I'm suspecting that this would be somewhere deeper in the source code.

Curious about caution re Portable TEMP Directory

Submitted by Wm ... on August 31, 2014 - 8:17am

https://portableapps.com/support/platform#advanced
says
---
Portable TEMP Directory - If you create a directory called TempForPortableApps in the same directory as Start.exe ('next to' the PortableApps and Documents directories), the platform will use that as the TEMP directory for all apps it launches. Note that any local apps launched from the platform or its apps will also use this as TEMP, so use with caution!

what is the reason for caution? is it a drive/disk space issue?

Help! The following Portable Apps are still running: PORTABLEAPPSPLATFORM.EXE

Submitted by tonedef71 on August 28, 2014 - 11:16am

Help! I am running the PortableApps.com Platform version 12.01 on 64-bit Windows (browse here for the screenshot: http://snag.gy/HbmB4.jpg).

Often times when I try to exit the Portable Apps platform I get the warning message "The following Portable Apps are still running..." (browse here for the screenshot: http://snag.gy/X3Q1J.jpg). When this happens I cannot close the PortableApps.com Platform normally; I instead have to use Windows Task Manager to end the "PORTABLEAPPSPLATFORM.EXE *32" process manually.
