Bitkinex now free

Submitted by gileswestwood on September 27, 2012 - 6:32am

This is the license. I tried just copying the installation directory to another machine and got:-

"The application failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect"

It comes with a postinst.bat to create the explorer context menus which could be run by the papps installer.

I tried putting the dir in the same location as I originally installed it with no joy. So I guess we need to extract the .exe to see what it installs.I wouldn't call any of this disassembling or reverse engineering.

RSS

Submitted by neumannon on September 25, 2012 - 3:15pm

Program: RSSOwl

License: Open Source/GPL

Description: A full featured standalone RSS feed reader

Website: http://www.rssowl.org/

I believe someone created it already but it appears it hasn't been updated in years.

Would it be possible for someone to get this into the portableapps suite of programs (or if there is another standalone rss reader that can be converted more easily, that is fine too)? It is also based on Java which is probably not ideal. Greatnews or Feeddemon or a similiar type app might do better.

Texto en Español--------------------
Hola.

Free Portable World Clock for PC and Mac

Free Portable World Clock for PC and Mac
http://flash-clocks.com/world-clock.html

This world clock is very cool and accurate.

The users need internet connection to download the timezone database from flash-clocks.com server, but nothing else, not even the free flash player.

Just download and open. It installs nothing, unless saving the preferences on the folder where it will be saved.

FontForge Portable

Submitted by Samuel Elstein on September 21, 2012 - 12:16pm

I just found out that the newest build of fontforge is no longer a Cygwin app and now installs into "Program Files" folder. Since this is no longer Cygwin dependent, can this be made portable now. I would like to have this font editor as a portableapp to create and edit WOFF, truetype, Opentype, and SVG fonts
