[Fixed] TeamViewer 8.0.17292 leaves a folder in %APPDATA%

Submitted by tapsklaps on February 28, 2013 - 10:20am

Within the file TeamViewer.ini (contained in the folder Data\settings) I can set it to "nosave=0" for saving settings. However this means, that TeamViewer now creates a folder named "TeamViewer" within %APPDATA%.
How I have reported in the thread Saving the settings in TeamViewer Portable impossible, it's therefore necessary, that the following code will pasted in the file TeamViewerPortable.ini:

[DirectoriesMove]
settings\TeamViewer=%APPDATA%\TeamViewer

7-Zip: Privacy Leak through %TEMP%

Submitted by PortableMSE on June 20, 2012 - 1:05am

7-Zip Portable still uses the Windows %TEMP% path for its working directory.
This complaint has appeared in this forum several times (eg. in 2008 and again 2010).

This looks like a serious privacy issue for a Portable App.
It runs the risk of leaving plaintext, uncompressed copies of your archived documents on the harddrive of any host machine you happen to plug in to.

I'd like to see an option to let the user set the temp path that 7-Zip Portable uses.

7-Zip: Theme Manager for 7zip

http://www.7ztm.de/

I'm not the developer/author of this application, so I take no credit for the work nor responsibility if anything that may happen to your system and/or data. I simply found it via a Google search and wanted to share it here since I've been a lurker around here for years.

I did see there was a post here asking how to change the 7zip icon, and this application will do just that. I believe it will work straight out the gate once you specify which install directory to point to. It works fine on my local install of 7zip on Windows 7.

Im trying to run multiple instances of Rocketdock. Here is what I'm trying to do. I have say 10 different utilities I like to run..things like system info, defrag, file wipe, file recover, etc.....in my main Rocketdock dock, I want to have an icon for 'Utilities', when I click it, I want a second dock to appear showing the individual utilities icons.

Can this be done?

7-Zip: questions from a n00bguy

Submitted by naz1 on May 14, 2011 - 3:04am

hi guys,

i'm new with this portable apps stuff.

i just want to ask a few things.

how can i associate file types with 7zipportable, i tried it in the options menu but it won't. i've tried associating file types with another portable app from winpenpack, specifically, the x-mpchc, it just does it fine. but with 7zipportable it won't.

last, can we integrate 7zipportable to the shell context menu?

thank you.
