I use 7-Zip, when I noticed that for Mac-On-A-Stick, I needed to extract a file for it to work. Unfortuanatly, it was in a bin file, which 7-Zip does not support. There are other programs that will do the job, but I am suggesting for the next release that .bin files are supported.
Hello!I intend to write the software requirement document on this project. I would like to know if there is somebody else who has already done it!When I finish I will upload it to this forum for comments, hopefully someone will find it useful.
Thank you in advance!!
If I change settings in 7-zip portable, after I close 7-zip portable, only clean original settings from registry, but not restore original settings for installed 7-zip on PC (not portable).
I use a command line to compress my portable apps file to an EXE. Upon running EXE to restore the files to another thumb drive my Thunderbird local the files are on the disk and the settings are showing correctly in the accounts but the Thunderbird tree view does not show them.
When I use the 7z interface everything works correctly. Any thoughts...
Command line
7ZA.EXE a -r D:\Test2\PortableApps.EXE *.* -WD:\Test2 -sfx7zCon.sfx
When do you think we'll see the 4.5x 7-zip portable?
Thanks,
7-zip actually makes a pretty good file manager. It shows all the files, including the desktop.ini things, and it let's you open them.
I've opened it up with Resource Hacker, and I would like to specify a directory to extract to. The default is the directory that the exe is currently in. What should I edit?
EDIT: Let me rephrase: I am trying to make a self-extracting archive, and I want it to default to a certain location, instead of its current directory i.e. instead of defaulting to X:\blah blah, I want it to default to C:\, for example.
