Hello everybody,

I often have to create splitted archives which has to be compatible to Winzip. So in the past I used Winzip to create these archives. But I would like to switch to 7-Zip when creating these archives. The porblem is, when I create a splitted archive with Winzip I get these Files, e.g:
File.zip
File.z01
File.z02

When I create a splitted archive with 7-zip I get these Files:
File.zip.001
File.zip.002
File.zip.003

Which I can not open with Winzip. Does anyone have an idea how I can solve this problem?

7-zip has on its own Website an entry, that it is completly free to use also in a commercial way. Is this also valid for 7-Zip Portable? I tried to find something about the licence agreements, but did not find them.

I'm working on a simple script to let me drop various archive files on to a small GUI to automatically decompress the archive and -if the decompression was successful- delete the original archive. Since I would like my script to be portable I've been trying to use 7za.exe, the help file explains:

"7za.exe (a = alone) is a standalone version of 7-Zip. 7za.exe supports only 7z, cab, zip, gzip, bzip2, Z and tar formats"

This is what my recent scan found. My ClamWinPortable was suposed infected with a Trojan Agent. I doubt it. Someone has had the same behaviour recently? What could we do?

Is there a way to check or scan, in a batch mode, if zips might be accessible or corrupt ?.
Rather than trying to open one by one.

7-Zip 4.62 has just been released!

What are the pros and cons or benefits and drawbacks between
7z VS Peazip ?.
I see 7z is smaller and has alot more total downloads.

I know that beta sofotware usually are not considered for portability but latest version on portableapps, 4.57, is very old (1 year) so I think we should do an exception and update it to 4.60.

In the meantime I upgraded it by myself overwriting files but I feel more sure if I use an official PA release

I opened and tried to use the 7zip for the first time and well what can I say.... how do I change it from what looks like russian to English, everything is in russian apart from the help pages but there is nothing in there about changing the language lol thanks in advance

I can do 7zip, tar, and zip...how do I get rar ?
