Utility Apps Support

WinZip supports a format where the entire zip archive is broken into multiple files. It is necessary, for example, on my iPod which can't tolerate a single file > 4 gigabytes.

When I try to open this in 7-Zip it does nothing.

When I click on 7-zip in 'Portable Apps Menu' it tries to unzip 7-zip.
There appears to be a self extracting exe file that the menu sees. '7-ZipPortable' is in a sub folder in this first directory. Had to copy it to the PortableApps directory to get 7-zip portable to work. It was installed this way by the new suite download.

Directory structure was
PortableApps, 7ZipPortable, 7-ZipPortable, App/Data/Other

I don't know if it's just me or if I've missed anything, but the 'shell context menu' settings just won't 'stick'.

To be more specific, while the checkboxes in the Options menu stay ticked, they're not (really) doing what they're supposed to do. Sometimes they work, but only for a short while after I confirm the settings.

I checked all except the two 'email' options (Compress (to Archive) and email). And after awhile (I don't know how long), some options go missing. Specifically (if I'm not mistaken):

Extract files...
Extract to folder
Add to Archive

and even then, the remaining options usually only work a short while after confirming the settings. Right now, however, they won't work at all.

Hi, is there a x64 portable-version planned (like the original 7-Zip) or does it make no sense - because the 32bit-version is working fine

Would an encrypted 7-ZipPortable archive be a solution for non-administration rights encryption (as an alternative to Truecrypt etc) of data and apps which contain personal data (e.g. Thunderbird Portable)?

It crashes when I close 7zFM. Quite annoying.
Is 1.2.1.3 the latest launcher?

I'm running Free version of AVG and when I loaded my flash drive with 7-ZipPortable. It detected 7-zipportable.exe as trojan horse downloader.zlob.djw. Is this a false detection or should I be worry?

whenever i execute 7-zip for at least 1 time, i have problem in removing the USB flash drive from my winxp.. it always says failure in removing and i can only do a hard boot of the machine to get it.. (yeah i know i can simply pull it out without much harm, but i want to be 100% sure of no data loss..)

in 7-zip options, i have selected to associate all file extensions with 7-zip and "integrate 7-zip to shell menu"..

any hint on what the problem is?
