The basic problem I'm having is that I deleted Pidgin, gtk, and aspell from my usb drive and tried to reinstall. I can't reinstall gtk because I guess the computer thinks that it's already there (didn't use the Add/Delete menu because Pidgin was installed on my usb drive and shouldn't be on that menu anyway.) I've tried using a registry cleaner, and I have no recent restore points. I suppose I could reinstall gtk, but the version packaged with Pidgin seemes to be slightly old and a bit harder to find. Any help, please?

In short Pidgin thinks AIM and ICQ are one in the same,
but for me ONLY uses the ICQ buddy list.

Pidgin will not load ICQ or AIM correctly.
It loads them both as ICQ and does not include the AIM buddy list.
Which is a different buddy list.
Same user name.
GAIM used server login.oscar.aol.com , but not anymore.

A while back, I stumbled upon a version of PuTTY that used file configurations instead of registry configurations (http://jakub.kotrla.net/putty/). I've been using this configuration for a while for local use, but now that I'm getting on the road, I'm loading up my flash drive with Portable Apps, including PuTTY Portable. I've noticed that Putty Portable uses registry keys to store info, and I was wondering if it was possible to store it in separate files for ease of editing, and to reduce fragmentation and corruption.

I have created an google account with my yahoo id. what should I do to access google talk with it.

I am able to access my gmail account with pidgin but what about google accounts with other address

i just installed miranda on my usb drive, but i dont know how to log in into msn or any other chat room. i just want to log in into msn. please help

Great app bar one small issue it will not connect to windows messanger on my own pc
works on everyone elses pc as soon as i plug the usb drive in to my pc it says
"Our protocol is not supported by the server"
when trying to connect is very strange tried all the virus software firewall ideas as normal
could i have some sort of net frame work or something missing on my pc ???

any ideas would be great

Hey, is there a way to add or can someone add a SEND button to the IM window, many times I will type something, but not send it until the other person responds and it would be nice to be able to "click" and send the text.

I used to be a fan to miranda, ironic as it may i'm hardly on any chats as it is, i was just testing out miranda and it has tons of configurable options, and seems to be more advanced but it's downfall is that it's difficult and it's rather awkward to use. i remember playing with gaim (before pidgin) and found it way too simple for my tastes, and bulky. i've just tried out the latest version of pidgin and on first load it ask for a username/protocal i chose irc, right off the bat i was connected, and checking out irc channels, again, great test run.

Anyone have used those for awhile and like one better than the other?

I really only use fireFTP, just because it is within my browser and has less windows open, and for some reason filezilla didn't work w/ my one of my websites' servers in version 2.
