Pidgin: Where is the send button plugin?

Submitted by Anthony A on May 21, 2008 - 12:07am

In the release notes for pidgin 2.4.2 it says a plugin has been added but not installed by default to add a send button to conversation windows. What exactly do they mean "added but not installed"? I do not see a plugin for that and don't know where to find it. If there was a forum for Pidgin I would post there but I don't know of one so I am hoping someone here knows.

Filezilla Portable Server

As of now I cannot find a portable version, hell I'd be happy with just the code to make it portable, even instructions on making it portable I've attempted to make this thing portable, note I said attempted, no success.. absolutely none! actually it is pretty portable by itself, the service offers install/uninstall routines just by running it. I just can't figure out how to does this by using the command line.. it goes haywire when I attempt such a task, I wish it was as simple as..

[code]
install service
start service
run service interface
wait until service interface closes

Pidgin: How do you change the proccess name

Submitted by pammusai on May 3, 2008 - 10:44pm

At my school, we have the software that wipes the whole C drive clean every day @ 1:00 AM. We also have Kaspersky and zone alarm, and the thing where teachers watch our every move on the computers... (except they cant monitor 1100 students...) Now the thing is that, I know that I can bypass the firewall (Zone Alarm) by changing the program name AND process name to "outlook.exe" which is our teacher's mail client, which we CAN actually use but any informations put into it will be deleted by the next day's arrival in school (so there's no use to it).

Pidgin: Facebook Chat Integration?

Submitted by Theborg3of5 on May 2, 2008 - 8:21pm

So I know that at least one chat program (digsby) that is already supporting the new facebook chat. Does anyone know if pidgin is planning to support it any time soon? Or if the chat has simply started supporting Jabber or something like it and pidgin is already compatible? Finally, if pidgin ends up adding support for the chat sometime soon, will it require another upgrade for our portable version?

And yeah. Sorry for all of the questions, but I can't find this info anywhere else!

Receiving AIM Offline Message In Pidgin ¿¿??

As we all know since Version 6x AIM has been able to support offline messaging.

Well in my new and strongly going "Live Free & Run Light" project I have switched from AIM to Pidgin Portable with the intention of getting the same great and fresh chatting experience without making my computer registry a mess plus not having AIM running so many processes + viewpointplayer all hugging my memory.
