Music & Video Apps Support

I was attempting to watch an AVI video(codec 4cc: DX50) and the playback was very poor. It was a pretty dark video, and all of the dark areas were heavily pixilated. I thought it was just a bad video file. But then I tried playing it in Media Player Classic (ver 6.4.9.1) and the video looked pretty good. Out of curiosity, I installed the only other version of VLC Portable I had which is 1.1.11 and played the video, and it looked much better. Has anyone else noticed a degradation between VLC ver 1 and 2?

Does any one know how to change the icon that appears in the taskbar.

I have used reshack and changed all the icons that I have found but when I start vlc the icon in the taskbar is still the orange cone.

Any help with this would be appreciated. Thanks.

How do I play them with Audacity? Or any other software for the matter?

is sourceforge down for vlc? I'm trying to download vlc portable and it times out. I get the message "The connection was reset. The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading."
And then I tried to download the regular vlc and I get the same message.
It could be just my connection, but I wanted to check with others.

Im talking about columns selection and size.
It always reverts to default.
(eg i don't want the "album" column to appear, so i deselect it, when i restart vlc it's back).

Yes, I'm running VLC portable 2.0.1 I think on a usb key.
Pc is running Win Xp Pro.
Just leaving VLC crashes 2 different pc's of mine ! Everytime.
Any idea ?

I have enjoyed VLCPortable without problems since v0.9x, but since the update to v2.x I cannot watch DVDs on WinXP SP2 (with Radeon Mobility) anymore, I just hear the audio. Are there any settings I have to adjust?

Now that Audacity has published ver. 2.0 will there be a portable version any time soon? I use this a lot and would like to have the portable version so I can put it on my USB thumb drive and use it at work where they don'w allow us to install anything.

VLC Portable leaves files (vlc2, vlc3, vlc4,...) behind in %temp%.

Steps to reproduce:

• Open movie (for example *.avi)
• Press the red button twice (record)
• Close VLC
