Howdy Guys
My initial install the folder size is(was)45.4 megs with 950 files and 226 folders-everytime I go online the size keeps increasing,I have the phishing and web forgeries turned off so the urlclassifier stays the same size but the folder size keeps getting larger,I clean my cache and cookies(clean everything)but still it is larger-My extensions are all up to date,is this something I should worry about? I copy the folder to My Documents and after I am done browsing I copy it back.
The files and folder are the same(950 and 226)why does it keep growing?

I want to run Firefox Portable from a locked, write only partition on a usb stick. However, that cannot be done unless I allow temporary writing to the host computer. I do not want to allow that. Is there any way to change configuration files or other source files that will allow this kind of use?
Portable fonts not recognized by the PortableFirefox v12 I use. When I go to Tools > Options > Content > Fonts & Colors, the only fonts available are the built-in Windows fonts, the portablefonts are not there. I even tried to change the fonts used in the UI with the Theme Font & Size Changer add-on, the same situation also exists - it cannot see the portablefonts.
I once had this problem, with Flash 10.x, but I fixed it with NPSWF32.dll file added to my FirefoxPortable\Data\plugins directory.
When Flash moved to 11.x version, the same problem, but it was harder to find a solution.
I found it here: http://notepad.patheticcockroach.com/2243/flash-11-for-portable-browsers...
Works just fine with most recent pages needing Flsh 11.x
I've done my best to follow the directions in Portable Support *to the letter*, over several versions of Portable FF. Nevertheless, I continue to lack the presence of around 16 Add-Ons (Extensions), long-installed to the Profile I have cloned for use by the portable version. These extensions are kind of "make it or break it" to my daily use of FireFox. (It would be so much easier if there was some way to just point to an established Profile -- like with a Config setting -- and have Portable FF obey that.)
I just started using the portable app version of Fire Fox so I can use older versions for developing a web app. But I can only download a few older versions. I would really like to get an install for version 4, 5 and 10. Are those versions available some where?
any help would be appreciated,
Ian
And I think it was you guys...
I have version 3.0.16. I DO NOT want your new versions, thank you.
This morning I was hijacked to a page saying my version was out of date. The despicable thing even used "tabs".
This spyware/update/malware/virus:
Added line at the top with "Most Visited", "Getting Started", and other useless garbage.
Added a "Wick-i-garbage" box.
Changed my settings to allow BOTH Java and Java script!!!
Dear users,
a couple of days ago I setted my FirefoxPortable exactly as my pc-located Firefox: I imported on FF Portable all the preferences from FF "Regular".
Now it's hard for me to immediately understand if the open window of the browser belongs to the "Regular" or to the Portable version.
Of course I could modify a little detail on one of them (change the position of a bookmark in the bookmarks toolbar, change graphical theme ecc. on one of them), or open the task manager to verify if FirefoxPortable.exe is working.
After working right when I first installed it, I invoked Firefox Portable (on Windows 7) and found myself looking at what appeared to be my regular Firefox browser, based on the tabs I had open and other settings. I checked Task Manager, and it was really tbb-firefox.exe that was running. I searched the support site, and based on advice I found there I went into \Tor Browser\FirefoxPortable\Data\settings and renamed the FirefoxPortableSettings.ini file, then reran Firefox Portable, and it worked as expected.
