Copying your local Firefox settings to Firefox - problems

Submitted by actus on March 6, 2009 - 4:50am

I followed the explanation provided in the "Portable edition support".

"Just copy the contents of that folder (except the cache directories) to the FirefoxPortable\Data\profile directory"

1) I did not find the cache directories
2) I get either FirefoxPortable\Data\settings OR FirefoxPortable\App\DefaultData\settings\profile Is the second directory the right one to copy my local settings?

"delete the file FirefoxPortableSettings.ini within the FirefoxPortable\Data\settings directory"
I got 2 directories with settings:

1) FirefoxPortable\Data\settings

silent install no longer possible?

Submitted by SeL on March 5, 2009 - 10:05pm

There used to be a command line option for the *.paf.exe file to install silently, without user interaction. This was /S /destination=path\ - where path was the full path to the target directory (which would not be appended with "FirefoxPortable"). This isn't working any more since version 3.0.5 or so. Is this intentional? Otherwise, could the functionality be restored? (There was an old forum thread about this.)

Add-ons instalation problem

Submitted by Dr.Millah on March 3, 2009 - 1:37pm

Hello.

I installed Portable Apps a few weeks ago and i am finding it great, however i would like to install a few add-ons to portable Firefox but i am having difficultly in doing so.

When i install them, and restart Firefox nothing changes and their are no new add-ons in the list. I researched the problem on Google and followed some guides (copying profile and deleting some catch files) but this has not helped the problem.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks very much.

Reconfigure Firefox Portable to run on Windows Mobile/Pocket PC?

Submitted by tplane37 on February 27, 2009 - 2:39pm

I am a Windows Mobile Developer. I am currently Beta Testing Windows Mobile 6.5 Build 21159 on my XV6800 (aka "Titan/Mongul"). It runs QVGA based programs, as well as VGA based. I have installed Fennec (Which was developed/released for the Touch Pro), and it is not far enough along yet to run on my device. I would like to be able to run Firefox Portable Edition from my SD Card since so much of the Windows Mobile Platform depends on the Internet Explorer being installed on the device. I honestly do not care much for Opera.
