Is there a way to know when the browser finishes launching and when it closed?

I did not find any event for this i.e onload and onclose.

Thanks!

Firefox Portable not performing cleanup after crash

Submitted by marcelo-ar on October 13, 2014 - 2:06pm

While running Firefox Portable, SMPlayer Portable and Process Explorer portable, system crashed due to power failure.

After restarting Windows, as expected, when launching SMPlayer and Process Explorer Portable both apps showed a popup warning and performed a "cleanup", but Firefox Portable started without any warning about unproperly previous close and did not performed any cleanup, so leaved some Mozilla Firefox folders and files on %localappdata%, %appdata% and a firefox registry key.

JIRA problem with Portable FF that does not occur in non-Portable FF

Submitted by sehlat on September 25, 2014 - 1:28pm

I have both a non-portable and a portable version of the latest FF on my work system. Both of them have no extensions.

In the non-portable system, all the sections of my JIRA dashboard display correctly. If you're familiar with JIRA, each of my 'filters' displays all the results.

The portable system, on the other hand, displays only ONE of my filters and the others are empty of results. I can get them to display by maximizing them (which then displays everything) and clicking "restore" to put them back where they belong.

Upgrade FF Portable 24.0.0 to FF Portable 32.0.2 Problems

Submitted by NotMine on September 24, 2014 - 2:37am

Has anyone seen these issues in FF Portable 32.0.2 after an upgrade:

Upgrade process
Copy known working FFP 24.0.0 folder to a "\tmp" folder on a completely separate hard disk. Download FFP 32.0.2 via portableapps.com link to the "\tmp" folder. Run FFP 32.0.2 "exe" file. It finds the "copied FFP 24.0.0" folder and no errors were output. Run the "exe" for FFP 32.0.2 and FFP opens up after checking extensions; I only had to upgrade "Download Tweak something or other".

(1) FFP 32.0.2 page loads are "dead slow"

File Storage Location With A Permanant Install OF FF 32 Portable

Submitted by Geff1 on September 17, 2014 - 7:21pm

I am going to be doing a pc upgrade. Due to issues back in the days of Win 98, I have FF Portable 32 on an XP box as my default browser.

I need to copy the following files:

Bookmarks: (said to be) places.sqlite
Passwords: (said to be) logins.json and key3.db
Forms: (said to be) formhistory.sqlite

Running Windows search, for bookmarks & Forms all I can find is the basic Vanilla FF install & a Sea Monkey version. I can't find logins.json at all.

Can anyone help? I can't migrate to Win 7 or 8 until I get this figured out.

Can't Log Into The support.mozilla.org Site - Anyone Have Contact

Submitted by tanker on September 15, 2014 - 1:11pm

I don't know where else to go to get information. There isn't a "help" like link on the page. The "Contact Us" link leads to corporate type addresses.

I last accessed my account on support.mozilla.org late March this year. Now when I try to log in using email address (username) and password. I get the error:

"Username may contain only English letters, numbers and ./-/_ characters."

After getting this I thought I may have the wrong username and forgot to record it. I used the "I forgot my username." link and found I was using the correct username (my email address).

Profile 2 ways

Submitted by smuike on September 15, 2014 - 9:13am

I'm running the latest version of PortableApps, v12.0.5, with quite a few other progs w/o any problems (W7 64-bit).
I now also installed yr portable Firefox, v32.0.1, very neat. All installed on a second built-in hd.

My issue is the profile, should it be at ...C:\Users\xxxx\AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles (9.87 MB) and also at C:\Users\xxxx\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles (24.8 MB)?

When I start from a desktop shortcut (FirefoxPortable.exe) I can do all, no problem, made it my default browser.

portable renders a page differently than desktop version

Submitted by MartinN on September 5, 2014 - 7:13am

Hello,
I'm using Firefox on my own private machines and I find it runs perfectly.
Now I tried since FF 30 the portable version and I found that pages are rendered differently than Firefox installed versions.
You can reproduce this and see the differences by visiting pages on www.t-online.de.
Here are on multiple pages boxes containing social media bookmarks and also links for printing, mailing and settings. The installed version of Firefox shows these boxes as expected. Only in ff portable these boxes are shown in a strange way.
What please can be the reason? Are some settings wrong?
