I don't know if anyone else is having this problem, but I can't log in to my portableapps.com account with Firefox 3 portable. It just resets the login form, but doesn't go anywhere. I've tried disabling all my addons, plugins, and even re-installing, but it still doesn't work. Does anybody have any ideas or help? I can't stand Internet Exploder. (No, that wasn't a typo.)

Portable Firefox 3 on Windows XP 64 bit

Submitted by lesgud on June 19, 2008 - 9:05pm

I updated my portable Compact Flash Card image on my hard drive with Portable Firefox 3 to make sure everything functioned properly. Firefox 3 will not run whereas Firefox 2.0.0.14 runs perfectly. Non-portable Firefox 3 runs fine. I installed a copy of FF3 RC2(portable) and I have the same problem. Does anyone have an idea of what needs to be changed to correct this problem? System AMD dual core 4600+ with 2GB ram.

FF3 upgrade note "squlite2&3"

I've upgraded a copy of my FFP2 to FFP3 for "gamma testing" Blum

I noticed that the urlclassifier2.sqlite file is not deleted upon upgrade.
You might want to delete it yourself as it's function is merged into urlclassifier3.sqlite in FF3.

As urlclassifier3.sqlite looks like it's going to be huge (currently at 27MB, 50MB expected) getting rid of "2" might help you a little space wise.

I am currently running this on a machine at work w/ high speed internet accesss.

PFF 3 is crashing all the time {solved}

Submitted by atreiju on June 19, 2008 - 2:41pm

Hi,
I got a problem, that since 3.0Beta2, my portable Firefox is crashing all the time. Mostly when > 5 Tabs are open and loading. PFF3 final doesn't change anything.

I'm using about 20 Addons, some of them with compatibility override. I guess that is the problem.

My question: how can i find the add-ons that cause this problem? Is there a log-file i can consult? Or do analyzing-tools exist?
(Sure, disable one after another is one way, but perhaps there is an easier/faster solution?)

Thanks!

No pages will open on Vista

Running from a reformatted cruzer micro U3 drive, on Vista Ultimate with UAC disabled, Windows firewall, Avast! antivirus. Firefox opens OK, but with an untitled tab. Clicking a bookmark or entering a URL results in exactly zero activity. FWIW FileZilla Portable opens and can resolve host names to IPs but can't contact any hosts. Both programs work fine on an XP machine. Disabling Windows firewall and/or the antivirus has no effect.

I presume it's some setting on my system, maybe having to do with running from flash drives, but what?

Cannot open Firefox on PortableApps, but can on U3

The work computer that I use has quite strict security protocols. When I try to run Firefox (whether locally installed, or using the portable version on my USB stick) it tells me "This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions on this computer". This is on an XP machine btw.

Anyway, the strange thing is how these restrictions don't apply when I run Firefox from my U3 LaunchPad (or any other U3 application for that matter).

Flash not working at a certain site

Submitted by Samie25 on June 19, 2008 - 3:37am

Got the latest version of flash, and it's working pretty much every site I go to. But, at this site:

http://www.neave.com/imagination/

It's telling me that I need the latest version installed. Some of the other links on neave site work perfectly fine, but the imagination one, and a few others don't.

Don't know if this is the sites fault or Firefox Portables. But in my system install of Firefox 3, the above link is working. Internet Explorer, and Opera also display the site fine.
