Enable/Disable session restore

Submitted by nicolleen on June 18, 2008 - 4:23am

I'm sorry in case this has been mentioned before.

When I first start the new FF3 I'm asked on first run if I would like to enable or disable session restore. In this window it also reads that I can change this later and I will find out how on the Firefox Portable support page. I couldn't find anything.

Where can I change these settings?

thanks,
nicolllen

Foxmarks won't install in FF3 portable

Submitted by PiEp on June 18, 2008 - 3:18am

I just downloaded and installed the final of FF3 portable. However, I can't install my favorite extension: Foxmarks. It consistently throws me an error when clicking Install: Invalid file hash (possible download corruption).

The fix on the Foxmarks wiki (restarting FF) doesn't help: http://wiki.foxmarks.com/wiki/Foxmarks:_Frequently_Asked_Questions#Download

Does anyone know what is wrong?

Please make a full backup copy of your Firefox 2 installation.
Edit:I.E. Do not upgrade your One and Only copy of your Perfectly Configured FF2P
You know, the one you spent hundreds of hours tweaking and perfecting Smile

Many things may get screwed up by the upgrade to FF3 that are beyond our control.
I'm thinking here of Add-ons/extensions that won't work properly till they are updated.

If you find that you have Add-ons that are not ready for FF3 they will be disabled.

Portable Firefox from CD

Submitted by inb on June 16, 2008 - 4:06pm

I loaded firefox onto a cd by dragging it from my mac mini desktop, but then it it wouldn't run from the cd. Nor would any of the portable programs I put on the cd...such as portable camino, or vlc. Says they can't can be started on a "locked volume". Can anyone tell what went wrong? Maybe they had to be configured before being put on disk. What is this locked volume thing? I called Apple and they couldn't figure it out, and actually told me to find out from this board, and then let them know.

so there it is..a question by me, but also the mighty team at apple.

Firefox portable on cd/ with default web page

Submitted by inb on June 16, 2008 - 10:09am

I want to run a website from a cd with firefox portable as the browser...thus I don't want user's native browser to pop up. I want fireox to open to the index.html on that cd. How can I set Firefox to do so? I am trying to set the default web page that will be on the cd but don't know how to do so.

Help, please.

Thanks in advance.

BTW...what will portable Firefos do about setting up a cache for itself if it is run from a cd?
