Is there a way to make .rm and .ram real media files play without downloading? Some do, but they have an address to a server, not the file. When it's just a file link, it downloads first.
I read in the forum that somone had a problem with installing the shockwave plugin without administrator rights, same here
Sorry, but the thread was closed so I created a new one...
Do this:
* Download the shockwave installer (.exe)
* Extract it using unpackingsoftware, such as WinRar or TugZip.
* copy the files into the firefox plugin directory (same as for flash above). No subdir is allowed, just dump all of it in the plugin-directory.
* restart firefox
Tested it with a random shockwavegame and it worked!

I realize that it's posted on the main support page that no Java portable is listed as a known issue for Firefox Portable, but now that there is a portable form of Java installed for the new OpenOffice.org, is there a way to have Firefox Portable point to that version instead of having to rely on a local copy? Or is that something that is still in the works?
This flirts with being "off topic", but I looked at the Off Topic forum and those items were WAY off topic. So here goes ... don't bother flaming me if you think this is ridiculous, everybody ... save your breath and your energy for a fight that really matters.
I have been toying with the idea of getting a BlackBerry Curve as my next mobile phone / etc. device.
I can´t log in to my personal Google account (www.google.com/ig), just getting "time out" errors. I am behind a proxy in my company, but logging in to iGoogle with my default browswer (Explorer6) works fine. I don´t receive any specific error messages, just that "time-out". I configured all cookies to be accepted by default. All other webpages can be reached without problems.

I read on this site that it is recommended to disable Saving Passwords in Portable Firefox. Is this just for security reasons or is it somehow more harmful to the flash drive to have that enabled? I currently have disk cache and history disabled, but I'd like to enable saving passwords if it won't harm anything.
This has been resolved.
When using Mozilla Firefox PE the address bar is blank but I can type in it and go to websites. When going to a different page after I typed a address the one I typed in is still there.
Thank you,
Alendar
Hi
I put FF portable on a USB stick for my Dad so he can use it on his travels around Europe.
Now he's texting me from Italy that FF has "denied him access as he declined to make a donation".
Is this the case?
