Corrupted File

Submitted by .hiddenFile on May 21, 2007 - 6:18pm

Windows was being Windows again Smile and wouldn't unmount my USB, so I had to just pull it out when I was in a hurry. Now I have two corrupted files that cause a looping error message whenever I start up Firefox and whenever I exit. I've tried reinstalling the application, but with no avail. Does anyone have a suggestion?
Thanks in advance Smile

Youtube and Flash problem

Submitted by Johndoe on May 21, 2007 - 4:18pm

I have downloaded and installed the flash extension and it works fine on other flash sites but youtube fails to recognize it. Oddly enough it runs the video on the front page okay (the one at the top right) but when i try to view any other video it claims flash is not installed (it is, i've checked and double checked). Anyone had similar problems and knows how to fix it?

The plugin works fine in Ie7 and standard firefox. Is it a problem in Firefox portable or is it just me?

Scrapbook extension

Submitted by clue-less on May 15, 2007 - 6:12pm

Have anyone used this extension with Portable Firefox?
I got it and was playing with it. Looks like very useful utility.

However, one of the sites I'd like to keep saving via Scrapbook is in the form of forum/blog with entries often added and at times deleted. How would I go about syncing few different (saved) copies of the site to avoid duplicates, yet not to miss any records?

Move Networks plugin

Submitted by mrwilloby on May 15, 2007 - 5:00pm

I have been trying to use the player from Move Networks that Fox uses for playing some of its shows on websites (e.g., http://myspace.com/24). Even when using Firefox Portable it installs the software and caches the files it needs in the logged in user's Application Data directory. (I am in a location with roaming profiles.) I would like to have the plug-in use a directory on my USB flash drive to cache the files because space in my user account on the network is severely limited. Is there a way to make this work?

The internal pop-up blockers help, but newer ons, or something keeps getting past it by opening the ad in a new window. Is there anything to stop a new window from opening unless if explicitly tell it to? Thanks.
