Firefox Portable

Can anyone tell me how much cache I should allow Firefox to have?

In FFP 2.0 don't need the space taken by the "history" button but it will not drag from the toolbar to the "customize toolbar" window. In fact none of the original buttons will drag off -- file,edit, view, history, bookmarks, tools, help & prefs. Only the ones added will drag off such as Adblock Plus and Launchy.

Is there another method to remove the "history" button?

I used to have the same problem with CNN.com. It seems to me as if FireFox Portable has trouble loading content from different servers on one page, such as advertisements.

For example, if you go to projo.com you see the ads at the top of the page or on the left will load, but in the status bar at the bottom left of PortableFireFox, you will see either of two addresses Firefox is taking time to negotiate with: "spe.atdmt.com" or "ads.belointeractive.com".

The page will either stall there (with only the two ads displayed) or take 5 minutes to load completely. Like I said, I used to notice the same problem at CNN, but they have since made some adjustments to their page that don't cause the error any longer.

Although i've tried Firefox portable v2.0, it's not U3-enabled - is it ever going to be?
i'm still running v1.5.x on my U3 drive, and would love to upgrade.

When i try to install forcastfox, the progress bar just disappears, and nothing is installed?

I just downloaded Portable Firefox 2.0. The "help" choice in the file menu (File,Edit,View,etc.) is missing. I run only the Netcraft toolbar and Foxmarks extensions. Both of these worked fine in previous versions. Also, none of my bookmarks are there.

HELP!i installed ff portable on my usb stick,put in all the extensions and themes i wanted and everything has been working great.now when i open the extensions box they are gone.no extensions listed and no themes listed.they are all working fine,just not listed and i have no access.your help would be greatly appreciated,

Firefox doesn't seem to be able to display images and text files properly on some user accounts I've used Firefox on. Might it just be the way Firefox is launched or is it just somehow disabled? Please help, because this is a big annoyance.

I just downloaded and installed Firefox 2.0 Portable onto my USB flash drive as it is only now offered on portableapps.com. It seemed to work great. However, I noticed when I browsed any web site, the links would remain blue after I clicked the link and returned. I checked the Tools/Options/Contents/Colors and everything was checked the same as my desktop versions of Firefox. The links are supposed to turn purple after you visit them. The desktop version works as it is supposed to. The portable version doesn't seem to. Is this just one bug of the Portable version? How am I supposed to be sure that all the behind security measures are working properly? Should I delete 2.0 and go back to 1.5.0.8?

I am running FF portable 2.0 on my usb memory stick.

FF Portable is installed on: \PortableApps\Internet\Portable Firefox 2.0 Final\ and when my profile is in \PortableApps\Internet\Portable Firefox 2.0 Final\Data everything works great.

I tried to move my firefox profile to a different location and changed the variable LastProfileDirectory in FirefoxPortableSettings.ini to the new path but when I start FF it creates a new profile instead of using mine and writes a new LastProfileDirectory with the new profile directory . I found one method that works but is unstable.

Instead of executing PortableFirefox.exe I did \PortableApps\Internet\Portable Firefox 2.0 Final\apps\firefox\firefox.exe -profile y:\path-to-my-profile and it did load my profile but none of my extensions worked any more and when I try to go to the options for any one of my extensions, the Add-Ons window freezes up and I have to manually kill firefox.exe. AS soon as I copy the profile to the original location (\PortableApps\Internet\Portable Firefox 2.0 Final\Data) everything works great.
