does this mess up tbird portable? is this the reason my data is disappearing when I move the drive from one computer to another?
I want to use my local tb profile & mails in tb portable, therefore I copied prefs.js, abook.mab and the ImapMail/Mail foders to the tb portable profile folder (before starting it the 1st time). But when I start tb from my removeable drive it will still use the local profile (instead of the one on the usb drive). I noticed that in prefs.js absoulte paths are used (e.g. for .server.serverN.directory) and they still point to the local mail folders. So here's my question: How can I set them correctly? If I just use "\\ImapMail\\...." it will create a mail folder in the documents & settings dir.
I did an inplace upgrade from TBP 1.5.0.9 to 1.5.0.10, and Thunderbird can no longer see my mail folders and my account settings. I opened the Data\profile folder, and I see them in the Mail subfolder, so the data is actually there.
What can I do to recover?
I delete the email message but the thunderbird folder now is 266MB!!
I think thunderbird non delete correctly message...
how to resolve ?
Hi
I'm running 3-4 portable TBs on my USB-Sick, some BETAs etc.
I'd like to have just ONE Adressbook I could access from any of these TBs
is this possible?
Thanks
Samuel
I am a newcomer to thunderbird-portable and am very excited to get it working. I downloaded version 2.0 and it worked awesome until i moved my drive. I had it installed on a 60gb usb portable hard drive. I got it all setup and then I unplugged it from my desktop and plugged it into my lappop. I opened up the program and it was fine. However, when I removed it from my laptop and returned it to my desktop, all the email folders were gone as well as the address book. I have lightning installed as well, but all of its info was still intact.
Hello,
I've a problem with my smpt accounts. I've a lot of accounts and at least 10 smtp different accounts. And now when i create a new smtp account it works but when i close thunderbird and reopen it the new smtp account always disapear.
Can you help me?
Thanks
I don't like the way TB opens showing my Inbox and the titles, if not the content, of all recent comms. Yes, the password is required to read stuff, but all the same an inquisitive stranger can easily see what I've been talking about, and with whom (if not what we said). How can TB be configured to be less revealing?
Thanks.
Fergus
Hello everybody,
I have been (and am still!) a happy Thunderbird portable user for some time. But occasionally, Thunderbird re-downloads messages that have already been downloaded. In fact, I leave the messages on the server for security. And this happens when I copy my Portable Thunderbird folder from my PC (laptop) to the desktop at work. Therefore, I have to manually delete these messages, as they are not all duplicates (sometimes I deleted them in the client but not on the server), and it is a real pain...
Had a problem with THP and had to reinstall the program into portable apps. Initially I thought I lost all my settings and folders but found the old folders and emails and just needed to be copied to the proper diretory folder. Now I can't find my address book contents. Anyone know what file this is in? Maybe I still have it and can copy it to the proper directory. Any instruction on this would be very helpful as many of the addresses are business contacts and are not easily replaced.
