PortableApps - TB 3.0 - MozillaMailnews
Looks like TB 3.0 creates a folder (MozillaMailnews) in the TMP folder of the local machine. This is not due to a plug in. What else can I give you to help?
It appears that after restarting TB due to an extension change or whatnot, the launcher thinks TB is done and closes. While I haven't lost any data due to this (thankfully), seeing as the launcher usually doesn't clean up until Thunderbird closes, I doubt very much that this (launcher closing on restart) is the desired behavior.
Note that Notepad++ also has this issue (where it does cause issues), and I'm guessing FF does as well.
Hi. In Outlook Express and other programs when you type a link, whether it has http:// in front of it or just ends in a .com the text that is intended to be a link becomes underlined within the email writing software.
I wonder if some kind programmer could create a portable app to find and show the host computer outgoing server name? At internet cafes you can only see web mail pages, not their email program. And it can be embarrassing to ask other computer owners for it, especially when they aren't knowledgeable about computers and may be suspicious of your intentions.
In v2 - Portable Thunderbird asks on boot-up if I want to be online or off-line at start-up - usful for making sure copies have replicated properly etc.
Is there a way of setting this up in T/bird v3?
TIA all
Hello all,
When I run ThunderbirdPortable_3.0_English.paf.exe from my hard drive, I get the Open File - Security Warning dialog as if I'm trying to run the exe directly from a website. Previous versions (even the 2.0.0.23) did not do this. What might be causing this?
Cheers (and Happy New Year)
Ray
I down loaded and installed the new version of TB Portable over TB2 as instructed. Everything migrated perfectly: address book, accounts, emails, etc. I can send emails - no problem. However, TB3 will not check for new emails. Just to make sure I did it right I did a clean install on another USB stick, then imported my account settings using MoseBackup. Still no email checking. I re-installed TB2, and guess I'll stick with that until the bugs are worked out - even though it doesn't seem anyone else is having a problem. Any answers?
I copied ThunderbirdPortable.ini from other/source to the folder containing ThunderbirdPortable.exe. I added -safe-mode to the AdditionalParameters= line. I verified no thunderbird files were running in the background. Heck, I even shut down Firefox in case there were shared files. I start ThunderbirdPortable.exe and all my extensions are still running.
I deleted everything else from the .ini file so that it read only
[ThunderbirdPortable]
AdditionalParameters=-safe-mode
and again ran the program. Still all the extensions are running.
Suggestions?
Can anyone help? I could not get on with Tbird 3 and decided to go back to V2 ( I downloaded V2.0.0.23 portable) I understood that i should uninstall V3 and download and install V2 and that my emails would be kept in profile. I have now installed V2 but cannot find my emails. Can anyone help me to retreive them or have they gone down the tubes? If i cannot get these back is it possibe to find the email addresses of the senders in my old inbox? Sounds like a tall order to me but maybe someone outhere has an idea.
Hope you can help.
Best Regards
Griff
