Thunderbird Portable Beta 2 Errors

Submitted by mels on June 13, 2007 - 9:57pm

Hi, need some help! I've been using Thunderbird for a week now and everything has been great until this morning! All my other email addresses (gmail, hotmail) are fine except for Yahoo. It started downloading again all the emails that I already have. How do I stop it? It's already downloaded about 100+ emails. I had to close thunderbird to stop it from downloading all my emails again.

Also, is there any way to delete all the duplicate messages? I found the add-on Remove Duplicate Messages but it's only for Thunderbird 1.5

smtp problems: can i log sessions?

Submitted by paololombardi on June 12, 2007 - 6:06pm

Hi,
I'm having serious problems in sending email with TB portable.
I've been using it since January but in the last month I got the evidence that some mails I sent never reached destination.
I contacted my smtp provider (i rely on it independently of the network I'm connected to) who replied me saying that such emails never traveled on the smtp server, however TB placed those emails in the "sent" folder without giving me any kind of error message.

Hello,

I have a nagging issue with Thunderbird. It keeps giving me a hard time with certificates. It just doesn't seems to handle them to well.

I use IMAP, and my hosting is Cpanel stuff. I also use the plugin Remember Mismatched Domains but still, I always get this error message:
[You have received an invalid certificate. Please contact the server administrator or email correspondent and give them the following information:

TB update 1.5.0.12

Submitted by BPLtech on June 4, 2007 - 10:45am

Anyone having problems with this update? It has auto updated itself twice now and once I try to open TB after the update, nothing happens. TB starts to open with the splash screen, the splash screen closes and that is it, TB does not open. I had to download and reinstall 1.5.0.10 to get my mail back. Any ideas? Thanks in advance for any help.

Sending e-mails from different addresses with Thunderbird

Submitted by voiper on June 1, 2007 - 12:28pm

Hi,

I'm presently using Thunderbird Portable to manage 4 e-mail accounts.

My problem is that all e-mails that I send have the same address as a sender.
Even if I select another address from where to send a message from, the recipient always ends up seeing only one and the same of my addresses (the first in my list that happens to be from a google account).

As a result I cannot choose from what address to sent my mails from.

Do you know what I can do to solve this problem?

Thanks,

Voiper

Synchronising a PC/Laptop/USB Stick

Submitted by mikemmb on May 30, 2007 - 8:02am

Hi,
I am new to this forum and have searched for synchronisation info between different instances of Thunderbird and found plenty of discussions, but I am still not clear on the best way to do it.

My train of thoughts are:
(1) I have, probably like lots of people, a PC, a Laptop, a USB Stick.
(2) The USB Stick has limited memory so should only hold the minimum of mail.
(3) The PC and Laptop have plenty of memory so can hold lots of historic mail.
(4) I should use the archive correctly and only keep a minimum of mail "active".
