Thunderbird Portable

Plugins

Submitted by Miles on July 28, 2007 - 8:52pm

Installed TBP 2.0.0.5 on U3 thumb from TBP site, not U3 site. Copied over Profile and all is fine. Except, do not have any plugins. There are 3 plugin folders:
1) TBP/app/default data/data/plugins
2) TBP/data/plugins
3) TBP/data/profile/plugins.

Folders 1 @ 2 each have one file only, ""plugins_readme.txt" which states to "install FireFox plugins in this directory."

Believe what is meant is to install Thunderbird plugins here?

Copying over profile

Submitted by Miles on July 28, 2007 - 8:32pm

Installed TBP 2.0.0.5 on thumb without running it. Then copied contents of Profile folder from hard disk. It didn't read all of the profile setup the 1st time, had several difficulties.

So deleted all TB. Then installed and ran TB on thumb. Did not set up new accounts, simply backed out. Closed TB and again copied profile to TPB/data/profile. This time all went well, Don't know if coincidental or if first starting TB makes a difference.

Hi @ all,

First and since I'm new here I like say "Respect!" and "Thanx!" to all being involved in developing this amazing PortableApps thing here.

Hard to describe HOW OFTEN this whole idea, menu and appz have been a massive help getting things done concerning job, education and home! Plus I really love this website here: clear, fast, userfriendly ... just perfect Smile

Lost email

Submitted by bluebomb on July 23, 2007 - 4:02pm

Well, this has happened a few times to myself and others. Thunderbird has worked great for the past couple months and now all of a sudden It's lost my email. When I start up PortableApps and launch Thunderbird, it wants me to setup a new account. My mail seems to still be in the ThunderbirdPortable>Data>profile>Mail directory. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get this back? The last time it happened I just reinstalled and setup my account again, but I would really like to know how to fix this.

Sending several copies of an email to different recipients

Submitted by laddie1997 on July 23, 2007 - 6:55am

Thunderbird Portable is fantastic while travelling. However I sometimes need to send multiple copies of a press release email, with attachments, to journalists, each addressed by name. In MS Outlook I do this by forwarding. If I forward with TB, the email is sent as an attachment, which I don't want. Does anyone know a way to send out multiple copies?

Many thanks...
