I forget if I saw this in tb before or it's new.
In Synchchronization & Storage - Message Synchonizing, do I have the "Keep messages for his account on this computer" checked or unchecked? It is currently checked. It is for my gmail account, imap.
I use tb 52.8.0 on my usb stick to multiple computers

As of today, when I open ThunderbirdPortable none of my accounts, e-mails, calandar etc. are there and I'm asked to create a new account, i.e. it behaves as though I've never used ThunderbirdPortable before. In the ThunderbirdPortable folder on the USB stick it runds for there is a profile folder present but for some reason the program has stopped accessing/linking to it. How do I get ThunderbirdPortable to open with my profile functioning?
Thank you.

windows search for emails?

Submitted by Bolanger on June 20, 2018 - 1:46pm

Hello,

I am struggling to use the windows search function for emails within Thunderbird's mbox files. The windows search function simply doesn't work with TBP.

In the settings of Thunderbird, there is a button that will allow the windows search function to search within emails, as well. I can check the checkbox, but after I restarted TBP, the checkmark is gone. I have tried this in Windows 7 and Windows 10, with various TBP versions down to v24... and always had the same issue.

E:\Thunderbird\ThunderbirdPortable\Data\profile\ImapMail\imap.zoho-1.com\INBOX
File size : 521 MiB"

"Regarding the size mismatch, we will not be able to assist you from our end as this is beyond our support boundary. You may contact Thunderbird support team for further assistance. In our records, your account shows 8.63 MB used out of 5 GB." - the message I got from Zoho unable to explain the discrepancy in TB local inbox size.

Submitted by oldpro21 on June 13, 2018 - 5:13pm

Hello all,

I am completely new to portableapps.com and I looking for help running Thunderbird Portable on a flash drive plugged into a Mac running High Sierra.

I downloaded and installed both XQUARTZ and WINE and then ran the installer for Thunderbird Portable which seemed to install correctly but when I start TP it just hangs. I end up having to force quit WINE.

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Hi.. I have been using Thunderbird Portable for a couple of years now and its great, especially as I keep all of my emails .. the folder is 20gb in size ..

I had to go portable because Normal Thunderbird would not function properly with all of that data... anyway , the only thing I am not able to do in Thunderbird Portable is delete or add or edit contacts...

Almost entire folders and email lost after transition from San Francisco to Lyon, France

Submitted by Dr.Mu on June 1, 2018 - 5:05pm

Thank you for letting me use TBP.

I was using ThunderBird Portable (TBP) w/ no problem until 29th May in San Francisco. However, when I went back to Lyon, France and ran TBP, I lost almost all of the folders, sub-folders and emails I'd kept for ages.

My TBP is stored on a USB key (Patriot Slate 125GB), and run under Windows 10 on Thoshiba dynabook R73/38MW. I'm downloading my emails from Gmail server.

Come to think of it, exactly the same problem happened before when I returned from San Francisco to France two years ago.

In the description are no information were to copy the keys from local installation.

If you are a GPG4Win user the keys are located her C:\Users\XYZ\AppData\Roaming\gnupg . If you copy all the content to ThunderbirdPortable\Data\gpg you have all your keys from the local installation in the ThunderbirdPortable integrated and are present if you want to write / read a encrypted mail
