Check for updates on 2.0.4
Thank you very very much for 2.0.4!
Just one question: Does the Check for updates -function work in this portable version? If so, is there anymore need for Portable 2.1 or other version?
Best regards,
Olli

Dear all,
I have files with content in both OOo Portable 2.0.3 and MS Office formats (documents, spreadsheets and presentations) which when opened with OOo Porable 2.0.3, are always blank/empty, although I have associated the respective file extensions with with OOo Portable 2.0.3 in my Windows Explorer in WinXP home.
Please let me know if you have experienced this behavior and how you solved it.
Best regards.
Hi
There's a way to use extension created in the openoffice 2.0.4 in the portable version?
I'm developping some extension for my work and I haven't time to make two type of script for every operation.
Thanks
Hi Everyone,
i'm curious if portable OO can include extra feature like extra plugin or theme or image gallery just like Oxygen OO (or OO Premium). thanks you and sorry if this offend anyone here.
Hey
Looking at the help html file that came with portable OpenOffice.org (not quite sure why...), it seems that some of it may have gotten mixed into the help file for Audacity!
[quote]
OpenOffice.org Portable is the versatile OpenOffice.org sound recorder and editor packaged with a PortableApps.com Launcher as a portable app, so you can work with your sound files from an iPod, USB flash drive, portable hard drive, CD or any other portable media. It has all the same great features as OpenOffice.org including live audio recording, support for multiple file formats (Ogg Vorbis, MP3, WAV), effects and filters and more. Plus, it leaves no personal information behind on the machine you run it on, so you can take your sound editor wherever you go. Learn more about OpenOffice.org...
When I open a file created with MS Excel and containing macros, the macros do not work with Open Office Portable.
I get an error alert box saying:
A scripting Framework error occurred while running the basic script vnd.sun.star.script:Standard.Module9.Fw?language=Basic&location=document. Message: BasicProviderImpl::getScript: no script!
What does this mean and how do I get Excel macros to work with Open Office Portable?
Thanks in advance for any help.
Do we need to delete the "compreg.dat" file after copying a profile from OpenOffice Portable to a local profile for Openoffice? I ask after noticing that is a "don't forget" when doing it with Thunderbird Portable:

A similar response was made for Firefox Portable

Other apps on this site have compreg.dat but only TBP and FFP show up in the search.
Related question: If copying a profile from a portable copy on your USB to a PORTABLE copy on your hard drive (not to a "local" copy), is the compreg.dat file to be deleted from the destination folder?
I am attempting to run OpenOffice portable base on a usb stick with a link to a dbase file. I can set it all up as I wish, but I use the same USB stick at work on a variety of machine with a number of networked drives. Sometimes the drive letter is assigned differently, then I get an error message, how can I get OpenOffice base to always read a 'local' version of the dbase file?
I was wondering if OpenOffice always stores its settings in INI file/s and that's why you can make it portable?
Also, if it's portable, why must I install anything at all? I'd expect it to be plug and play...
Thanks!
I know this may sound like a contradiction in terms, but I would like to be able to run OOo Portable on a multiuser winxp pro sp2 PC. I use portable apps a lot to simplify software upgrades on a pool of like PCs, as well as on several USB sticks. The former setup involves multiuser support.
Is this possible and how?
My experiments so far yield several problems, some of which may be unrelated to multiuser support, actually.
(in the following description, I use the term "log in" to indicate logging on via the fast user switching winxp facility)
1. User A logs in and doesn't run OOoP, then user B also logs in and runs OOoP. OOo Writer seems to hang, I have to kill it with task manager. OOo Draw works OK, but it seems to hang when clicking on the T tool (text). Pasting text directly from the clipboard works OK.
