Portable OpenOffice.org Premium?

Submitted by tappet on September 3, 2006 - 2:08pm

I just found a modified version of OOo called OOo Premium. It is (despite the name) still free. The difference is that it includes things like clipart, templates, etc. Is there a way to upgrade a current installation of Portable OOo (or the new version, when it come out) to include the clip art and templates? OOo's file structure is pretty complex, so any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Trouble opening portable oo docs w/ oo 1.1.3 on Debian Linux

Submitted by ddoyled on August 30, 2006 - 6:51pm

I have been using portable oo 2.0.2 on my USB flash drive (work computer running windows) to create documents and save them on the flash drive. I have then tried to open those same documents on my home desktop that is running Debian Linux. The Debian distro, Sarge, came with oo 1.1.3 included in distro. When I use the oo installed with the Linux to open the documents they open but the text is not visible, ie; the page appears blank. I have created documents with the oo 1.1.3 that came with the linux and saved them to the flash drive and then opened them using portable oo with no problems. Can anyone advise if this is a problem that is related to the difference in the versions of oo (1.1.3 can't open 2.0.2)? I have tried to, "apt get upgrade" w/c returns that I have the most recent version for Debian.

Can't Start Program ...

Submitted by BigRenman on August 27, 2006 - 9:08pm

I've downloaded the zip file to my Kingston 2gig flash drive into a Download folder I created on the drive. I used WinZip to extract files into OpenOffice folder I created. The program doesn't show up on the Kingston menu. Clicking on the OpenOffice.exe files brings up a gray window.
Then I downloaded the zip file unto my computer desktop. I used Winzip to extract the program into a new folder I created in under Kingston's Document folder. Same result. Shouldn't the program be visible on the Kingston menu rather than me having to Explore to an exe file. And why is the opening window gr

Portable OpenOffice on a PDA

Hi!

Thanks for the project!

I have a (hopefully little) problem. I tried to install PortableOpenOffice on a SD-Card an my PDA but the ActiveSync stopped with an error. What I did:
1. Copying the .zip to my PC and unzip
2. Copying the stuff to the \Storage Card

And this is the point when it fails. Is there something I can do about this? Is it a n ActiveSync problem? I really would like to use PortableOpenOffice on my PDA there is nothing appropriate.

Thank you in advance!
