OpenOffice won't startup

Submitted by bswezea on August 13, 2006 - 12:34am

Sorry if this a duplicate post. I have searched the forums and can't to find the answer to this problem.

OpenOffice won't start after I change the settings to automatically save all documents in Microsoft Office format. I get the splash screen and that is it.

I have tried this on multiple machines even one with fresh install of Windows XP Home with SP2.

Pleas help me what to do, to work this problem around.

Thank you.

Portable OpenOffice.org 2.0.3 in german language now available

Submitted by andreasma on July 3, 2006 - 1:10pm

Hello,

today we have announced a new version of POOo in german language. This is transformed out of the original OOo-2.0.3-de. It uses the original POOo-Files from PortableApps for its start and configuration. You find the download at:
ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/misc/ooodev/portableooo/
There are two versions: one with python-support and another without it.

Running OO on W98SE

Submitted by jwr on June 28, 2006 - 1:48pm

Hi,
I have the portable version of Open Office on a USB Flash Drive. It will work great on an XP machine, but when I take it to work and use it on a Windows 98SE machine (full updated) -- the top menu bar (file, edit...etc) will not appear. Everything else does appear, but not the top menu bar.

I gave the same Flash USB drive to a co-worker --using an XP machine -- and it worked perfect.

How can I fix this so it works on my W98SE machine?

Thanks in advance

jwr
