Bug with macro on OOo 2.01

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on February 1, 2006 - 5:10pm

On the PortableOpenOffice 2.01, when I click on "execute macro", POOo shut down!!!

On the french release of PortableOpenOffice with "John haller launcher", is the same thing...

Attrib a key to a macro force POOo to shut down too...

I tested this with "your" POOo, and my French POOo based on your launcher with the french release of OOo. Same result...

Post on our site of this problem: http://forum.framasoft.org/viewtopic.php?t=14076

thanks.

great job!!!

Where to unzip the patch for PortableApps SUITE?

Submitted by microwiz on January 30, 2006 - 1:47pm

Hey John (and other developers if they're there - don't mean to slight you!), I love this work that you're doing - so much, in fact, that I'm trying to convert my wife to carrying the PortableApps suite with her to work and other places. I got the full PortableApps.com suite and put it on her memory stick.

I'm getting the "won't open on first launch" problem with Portable OpenOffice.org 2.0.1 - the splash dialog shows up and the progress bar moves to completion, but the app never opens. I saw that there is a patch for that which is supposed to be unzipped to a particular directory. Unfortunately, the way the suite is laid out, there are TWO directories that seem to fit the description, one in Apps and one in Data.

No menus in Windows Me

Submitted by sawjew on January 28, 2006 - 7:32am

I have been using Portable Openoffice for a couple of weeks now and I find it (and Portable Firefox) excellent. We are not allowed to install software on our PCs at work and this enables me to walk right past that restriction and maintain all my own settings and bookmarks! I have used Portable Openoffice successfully on XP Pro, XP Home and NT4, but when I tried to use it on Windows Me I found the menus to be completely missing. I have tried it on two different computers running Me with the same result. Does anyone have any ideas what the problem could be and how to fix it?

cannot unzip file

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on January 26, 2006 - 11:14am

This is probably a problem with the zip utility, but I use the WinZip (evaluation) and it gets about half way through and can't finish unzipping the file that I downloaded. Is there a better unzip utility or do I have to buy it?

Thanks

Not able to save docs in OpenOffice

Submitted by neoluk on January 25, 2006 - 4:12am

Hi all, I've installed portableSuite (full version), on my pen drive. Everything is working correctly but I cannot save any doc created with Openoffice, whether a text or a spreadsheet or a presentation. The "save" button is not working at all as well as the "Save" and "Save as" command in the "File" menu. I can only discard the documents and close the program. In the meanwhile AbiWord is working properly. Any suggestion?

Thanks Luca

zip file problem

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on January 16, 2006 - 5:50am

I tried to download the zip file from 2 different locations.
The 'portable_openoffice_2.0.1_en-us.zip' is corrupted.

Does anyone get into the same problem?

Thanks, Dario

Disadvantages

I am an OOo user. I read the article about Portable OOo from Cnet, and now I understand its advantages.

But I don't understand the difference between full version of OOo. Though Portable OOo requires half as large storage/disk space as full version, why OOo developpers still publish full version? Does Portable OOo has any limitation or problems?

And can I use portable OOo on a memory card? I use a SD card since it has large capacity and great compatibility with laptop PCs.
